They are trained extensively on what to look for, what to secure, where to place sharp shooters to cover everything- there was no excuse for them not securing rooftops of all places, especially since there were so few rooftops there to cover!
The cops should have immediately alerted the ss that there was a man on the roof with a gun after the group of fellas told them- there should have been NO hesitation at all, and president Trump should have been surrounded by ss seconds after the ss got the alert while the ss figured out what was going on!
The fella that spoke to British media had it exactly right, there was no excuse for what happened. People in the crowd even saw the gunman and were pointing him out, trying to get ss attention. If they could see the gunman, then the ss which were elevated could see him better most likely.
