Bongino makes a claim. The briefing lead last night claimed otherwise. It will be interesting to see what actual evidence of security team enhancement requests come to light. If the Trump campaign made the request then I’m sure that will be put out there.
I don’t listen to bongino much. I like that he is a Trump supporter and appreciate his background and his conservative position. But he’s a talk show host now, like hannity, like Carlson. And as such he promotes himself. I listened to part of his latest podcast from right after the shooting and like others, he is blaming the SS detail for failure given his proposed scenarios, none of which are actually what happened. So his premature speculation about guns getting inside the perimeter is just more noise in this case.
I do think the perimeter was not big enough. But whether or not that was influenced by lack of sufficient resources is TBD.
