President Trump was shot on Saturday at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Firearms expert Larry Johnson confirmed to The Gateway Pundit:

** The shooter was likely outside the venue ** The shooter was on the right side of Trump ** This was not a pistol used by the shooter ** Likely a 22 Long Rifle – likely semiautomatic ** The 22 Long Rifle is effective up to 200 yards ** It appears no one else was shot on the stage ** The audience was looking to their right after the shots were fired. ** Bullet was in a deceleration range

THERE ARE REPORTS THE SHOOTER IS DOWN

President Trump is bleeding from his ear!!!

The crowd was absolutely massive

Isn’t it true that it is used in warfare to shoot combatants in the leg so they have to be cared for?

A bullet is dangerous as long as its in the air.

Yeah, and in those 400 yards it is blown all over the place.

Just for a heads-up, I shoot 200 yd. rimfire matches at least once a month.

Maybe it was a .22LR, but from the couple recordings I heard, it didn't sound like it. But I could be wrong.

No it wasn't posed. This is the posed picture:

It wasn’t posed. It was a larger flag. NOT POSED.

That being said I had a classmate that tried to kill herself with a .22 handgun - bullet went in and basically skimmed her skull/brain. She lived. Her personality changed dramatically, but she lived with no issues. I still pray for her.

No clue but sounds plausible.

agreed but there are more lethal rifles that could easily make that shot.

I am surprised that all this poo pooing about the 22 hasn't resurrected the guy behind Trump that was shot dead by this pea shooter.

"Bullet was in a deceleration range"

What kind of cock-a-mamie statement is that? Typical sports page writer? (When exactly is a bullet NOT in a "deceleration range") after it has exited the muzzle?

I’ve seen other reports it was an AR type rifle (223/5.56 - close to 22 caliber but MUCH more powerful and much longer range).

I was wondering what ‘deceleration range’ was? I can imagine there is a little acceleration for a few centimeters outside of the barrel but then it is all friction afterwards.

I mean, if you want to get truly physics-al about it, deceleration would be slowing acceleration, which means negative jerk. Once the round leaves the barrel, it is constantly accelerating on a vector opposite the velocity vector due to drag, as well as accelerating down at an essentially constant acceleration due to gravity.

Off the top of my head, I would assume jerk is decreasing (so yes, deceleration) as the round slows, as the slower velocity means less drag and therefore less slowing as the round moves further.

As the round falls, however, acceleration will increase slightly as you get closer to the other mass (earth), but drag would likely overcome this positive jerk quickly, and the gravity vector of acceleration would be decelerating until you reach terminal velocity, at which point acceleration is zero.

So yes, pretty much 100% deceleration until you have your sudden stop.
