This was not a Secret Service success.
Someone who wanted to kill President Trump got close.
They got close with a firearm.
They managed to get off several shots. Quite right (although we do not know how many of the shots were fired at Trump).
That will likely be the end of outdoor gatherings which by itself changes the calculus somewhat.

When he went down I thought he got shot in the chest but I know that he wears a bullet proof vest but I see what happens to officers who even with those vests get killed..I just went on my knees and prayed and cried I was in such shock I could not believe that this even happened in MY country
