11/15 and “I have some work to do!”
Several were tough questions. Didn’t realize Monroe also had a July 4 death date.

I meant to post this earlier.
The Lee Resolution agreed on July 2 was the real Independence Day. A lot of FReepers know that. But not largely known is that Richard Henry Lee was the uncle to Robert E Lee.

A very pleasant good Wednesday morning and ((HUGS)) to everyone at the Canteen and to all our military at home and abroad. Thanks for your service to our country and thanks Luvie for this morning's thread.
Yesterday at Chisolm Trail Park:
We will do Comanche Lake early today because of a Heat Advisory. We normally do Comanche Lake Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday however, the Chamber of Commerce is hosting a 4th of July event Saturday at the lake so to avoid crowds at that event, we will do our usual Wednesday trip to Wichita Ridge on Saturday.
I actually did a little better on the quiz than some of the people here. I got 9 out of 15 right.
How's everyone doing this morning?

Thanks for keeping the Canteen doors open
with the Independence Day quiz.
I got 9/15.
My guessing was off because I was
still on my first cup of coffee. LOL
Hope you have a wonderful holiday.

God’s Life-Changing Gift
I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word.
Psalm 119:16I greeted our youth group as my husband and I handed out Bibles. “God will use these priceless gifts to change your life,” I said. That night, a few students committed to reading the gospel of John together. We continued inviting the group to read Scripture at home while we taught them during our weekly meetings. More than a decade later, I saw one of our students. “I still use the Bible you gave me,” she said. I saw the evidence in her faith-filled life.
God empowers His people to go beyond reading, reciting, and remembering where to find Bible verses. He enables us to “stay on the path of purity” by living “according to” the Scriptures (Psalm 119:9). God wants us to seek and obey Him as He uses His unchanging truth to free us from sin and change us (vv. 10-11). We can ask God daily to help us know Him and understand what He says in the Bible (vv. 12-13).
When we recognize the priceless value of living God’s way, we can “rejoice” in His instruction “as one rejoices in great riches” (vv. 14-15). Like the psalmist, we can sing, “I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word” (v. 16). As we invite the Holy Spirit to empower us, we can savor each moment spent prayerfully reading the Bible—God’s life-changing gift to us.
Reflect & Pray
How do you invest in studying the Scriptures? How can delighting in them change your perspective on God’s call to obey Him?
Loving God, please help me rejoice over the priceless words of Scripture as You empower me to submit to Your wisdom and authority in my life.

14/15 - You’re a genius!
A combination of four lucky guesses and four years in my late teens/early 20s living nine blocks from Independence Hall, I guess. 😊
Happy Fourth of July, Canteeners!
