The original Declaration of Independence has one signature - John Hancock’s.
When he saw what is now referred to as the Dunlap Broadside of the Declaration of Independence, he exclaimed, “Is mine the only treason?” What is called the engrossed copy of the Declaration of Independence has many signatures and was signed in August, 1776, and beyond. Something like 100 copies of the Dunlap Broadside were printed. One was sent to King George. One was sent to General Washington in New York.
