Google is up to its regular election tricks, according to the Media Research Center. An MRC investigation found that when searching for a candidates name with “presidential race 2024,” Joe Biden’s campaign website is the top result, while Donald Trump’s campaign website doesn’t appear on the first page.

The MRC’s research, conducted just days before tonight’s highly anticipated presidential debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, revealed stark differences in how Google presents search results for various candidates. When searching for a candidate’s name along with “presidential race 2024,” researchers found that President Biden’s campaign website appeared as the top result, while former President Trump’s website was notably absent from the first page of results.
This discrepancy has led to accusations of election interference. Time to treat Google as a regulated phone company. No one can stop you from using the phone system.
And force it to divest Android and YouTube.

I just looked up “presidential race 2024” on Google, DuckDuckGo, Bing, Yandex, Luxxle, and Tusk.
All the results looked about the same. The biases weren’t especially strong, but Google definitely returned more NYT and CNN stories than the others.
I don’t pay google anything and if search for my information it shows up all over the first page!
The fact is, they are suppressing Trump and conservative leaning results.
To look at Willie Mays's baseball stats, google is OK. Probably OK for Catlin Clark, at least for now.

Interesting conjecture.
In other words:
Google is operating as a Publisher, while claiming not to be one.
Technology giants in shaping public opinion and access to information.
They have to answer only to one master to stay in business and the public ain’t the one.
yeah but nobody is searching for you. That’s different. But if you’re searching for “house painter indianapolis” the names you get are the people who have paid up relationships with google.
