Millionaire Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen gives out-of-touch response to skyrocketing grocery prices

Millionaire Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen appeared out of touch when asked about inflation under President Biden — insisting she goes to the grocery store “every week” and isn’t shocked by the skyrocketing prices.

Yellen was quick to shoot down a question about grocery prices, which are up 20% from before the COVID-19 pandemic, during an interview with Yahoo Finance’s Jennifer Schonberger on Monday.

“Have you been to the grocery store lately?” Schonberger asked Yellen in the interview.

“I sure have — I go every week,” Yellen replied.

“It’s sticker shock, isn’t it? Just when you look at shipping costs, those have come down, global food commodity prices have also come down, but food prices still remain high. Should the US invest in agriculture to boost the food supply in this country?” Schonberger asked.

Yellen, who is worth an estimated $20 million, began to reply “No” before Schonberger even finished her question.

“I think largely it reflects cost increases, including labor cost increases that grocery firms have experienced, although there may be some increases in margins,” Yellen continued.

The Treasury secretary noted that she expects inflation to come down and hit “the Fed’s 2 percent target” by early next year.

She also said that it the tax cuts that are causing the deficit to grow, completely ignoring out of control profligate spending. She is not stupid, she’s just a stubborn, willfully ignorant idealogue.

So, what she means is Yellen sends her minion to to the Whole Foods and specialty shops..

But the pricing on Beluga Caviar, Foie Gras, 100 day aged Waygu steaks and Clicot have remained pretty much the same. So , she has not sen a big change on her bills.

It is partly reduced competition with the Xiden administration, by design, driving the smaller ones out of business because a handful of zaibatsu are easier to control.

She also said that she was going to raise ratse/normalize rates at full employment.

Full employment hit in 2012, she used China as an excuse in order to protect the Kenyan’s 3rd world like gig and sharing economy.

They continued to insist his economy was awesome and raised rates once under his tyrannical regime.

“Emergency” zero percent rates or the like lasted for over a decade. Transferring obscene wealth from those least responsible for the housing meltdown, obv savers- to the banks/Wapp St et al those most responsible.

Yellen says she hasnt seen a noticeable change in her grocery bill....... b/c pricing on imported Beluga
Caviar, Foie Gras, aged Waygu steaks and her fave quaff, Clicqout, have remained pretty much the same.

Yeah, she can still get a decent bottle of Clicqout for $127.99.

Bought 5# chub of hamburger this Am.

Used to be around $15. Was $23.84 this AM.

ALMOST 60% higher.

This entire Administration is surrounded by “THE EMPEROR’S NEW CLOTHES” Syndrome.

The Treasury secretary noted that she expects inflation to come down

Yellen means the carefully crafted "rate of inflation," not prices.
