Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) has landed in Israel on a solidarity visit, greeting Israeli President Isaac Herzog in the hooded sweatshirt that has become Fetterman’s trademark.
In a statement, Herzog’s office said:
President Isaac Herzog today, Tuesday, met with United States Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) who is making his first visit to Israel.
President Herzog expressed his deep thanks to the Senator for his continued support for Israel and solidarity with the Israeli people. During the meeting, Senator Fetterman showed the President a bracelet that he was wearing which he was given by families whose loved ones were murdered by Hamas terrorists at the Nova Festival on October 7th. He told the President that he would not remove the bracelet till all the hostages had been returned home to their families.
President Herzog said: “Welcome to Israel my friend. I know that you come out of passion and love for this country. And I want to say thank you, on behalf of our nation and behalf of Israel. Those who stand with us showing moral clarity, we shall never forget them. And we want to thank you, you’re a true leader.”
Senator Fetterman thanked the President and said: “I’m honored by those words, but I don’t really believe I should be thanked for just doing my job. It’s been a very easy and clear choice throughout all of this, through everything your nation has been through after October 7...

He's worn them before...
Fetterman had outperformed expectations, that’s for sure.
I don’t like him, but I do like him more than most Repukes.
Schumer must be very frustrated with the way Fetterman turned out.
Fetterman in Israel….in his hoodie….really puttin’ on the Ritz!
Gonna have to wear a kippa and change outa those baggie shorts into big boy pants ( really big boy) if he wants to visit the holy places
> Boy, I like John Fetterman. <
And the Muslims in Congress must hate him. Not that he cares.
Don’t be fooled.
I don’t care that he wears a hoodie, but it hot right now in Israel. He’s a supporter of Israel more than some RINOs.
yep. I believe Fetterman is real on this policy. I’ll take them when i can get them and call him out when he’s wrong.
A slob and idiot and proud of it so much for the IQ of the voters.
He fooled a lot of people when he was running. So far, so good!
> so much for the IQ of the voters <
It certainly looks that way on the surface. But it’s actually not the case. Fetterman’s GOP opponent in 2022 was Dr. Mehmet Oz. Everyone on the GOP side slobbered over how great Oz was. Trump, Hannity, etc.
I cannot imagine a worse candidate for Pennsylvania than Oz. I could write a book on that. So the IQ problem here was not with the voters. It was with the GOP leadership.
The Hoodie is on a roll.
The Hoodie in the punch bowl of senate democrats. After November they will get out the Ling knives and get rid of him. 100% unity on assigned topics is required among democrats. No contrasting opinions allowed.
His parents are old time Republicans. I think he has a healthy respect for their opinion.
Not a GOP leadership issue Mehmet Oz would have been a better option for the state Fetterman had mental issues that were addressed it was the voter iq issue.
> Mehmet Oz would have been a better option for the state <
Yes. The state and the country would have been much better off with another Republican senator. No doubt about that.
But Oz was an appalling candidate. He didn’t even live in Pennsylvania until right before the election. Fetterman’s ads were effective in pointing that out.
And Oz’s ads? They were ridiculous. They had him wandering around Pennsylvania factories with a stupid grin in his face. He looked like he was lost.
Fetterman had two weak points. One was his mental issues, as you noted. The other was that he was mayor of a crime-ridden town, Braddock. Oz’s people never made any significant attacks along those lines.
And one more thing. PA neighborhoods that had Trump signs out in 2020 had Fetterman signs out in 2022. Crazy, huh?
The GOP leadership is clueless sometimes. But, Trump also endorsed Oz, and PA Republicans voted for Oz in the primary.
But, in the general election, Oz came across as a carpetbagger. Fetterman was a Pennsylvanian with a working class image.
Maybe McCormick would've won against Fetterman? But not Oz.
In the end, PA could have ended up with far worse. Just imagine, the usual woke deranged democrat candidate!
You are right about the Republicans picking a crappy candidate.
