Former President Donald Trump will be stepping into a left-wing minefield on Thursday when he debates President Biden on CNN, whose moderators have compared him to Adolf Hitler.
In May, Mr. Trump immediately accepted CNN’s invitation to debate Mr. Biden. The president took to social media and directly challenged his rival to participate.
Since then, Trump supporters have lamented what they call unfavorable terms of the debate. The candidates will have no live audience and no chance to interrupt each other. Jake Tapper and Dana Bash have been chosen as the moderators.
“Trump agreed to the moderators and rules that clearly favor Biden,” political analyst and Democratic campaign consultant Douglas Schoen said. “Fully expect that Trump will be at a significant disadvantage of his own making on Thursday night.”
The Trump campaign on Monday battled CNN hosts ahead of the debate, which will take place at the network’s Atlanta headquarters.
They made the case that Ms. Bash and Mr. Tapper have broadcast their disdain for Mr. Trump. In one instance, they accused Mr. Trump of using “the dehumanizing rhetoric of Adolf Hitler.” In another, they called his presidency a “long national nightmare.”
Trump campaign spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt attempted to call out the network’s bias against the former president in a CNN segment Monday morning, but the show’s host abruptly cut her off midsentence.
Before CNN ended the interview, Ms. Leavitt signaled that the Trump campaign knows what it is facing by agreeing to debate terms largely set by the network and the Biden campaign team.
Mr. Trump, she said, “is knowingly going into a hostile environment on this very network, on CNN, with debate moderators who have made their opinions about him very well known over the past eight years. And their biased coverage of him.”

CNN didn’t propose. Biden’s team did. They didn’t expect PDJT to agree to all their conditions, it was a trap to get talking points about how PDJT was “afraid” to accept. PDJT called their bluff and now the leftits are shitting bricks.

I tend to agree. A drug test from both would be a very legitimate and reasonable request for the debate.
Far be it from me to tell DJT how to handle the “debates”.
But I would simply ignore whatever question that whatever moderator asked, and just say what needs to be said, regardless of the topic.
Not a mine field, but a target rich environment.

Biden could then go out and say blah, blah, blah..about Trump being afraid to debate him.
Trump, being always two steps ahead, agreed to the debate rules and have now put Biden in a box.

All Trump has to do is be Presidential for 90 minutes..be the nice Trump, greet Tapper and Bash with respect(Yeah I know, disgusting isnt it but it will work to his advantage) say “Its a great honor to be here hope you are both well been looking forward to this debate glad to be here” and when either one turns off Trump’s mic, Trump should stand there, shrug his shoulders and be cool with it, and people watching will know exactly what is going on and will see that its rigged, Trump should just go with the flow be there for 90 minutes, state what is going on with the country, how Biden has ruined it and leave
They can’t mute Trump when he is delivering his official alloted amount of time. That is ridiculous.
Poopy pants is an embarassment and a compromised pathological liar. He is also the President. When a President poops out side the White House SS carries it away. If a President is taking heart meds we dont want our adversaries to know. He cant take a drug test. That and he is going to be high as hell.
Having accepted, now PDJT has to negotiate this minefield with great delicacy. No open confrontation on even the wildest of assertions, but a repeated request, “Could you explain the question, please?” and as they continue to spin a wilder and wilder yarn, gently reply, “You could be right.” That is one of the most disarming replies to an implacable adversary that could be made.
Trying to respond with facts is a fool’s errand, and they will simply brand whatever defense is raised as a “lie”, no matter how it is phrased. But coming across as the cool and sophisticated statesman is sure to leave the debate moderators AND Joe himself tied in knots and flustered.
And once flustered, no matter how the incident is reported, they shall not have won.
Trump walking into the belly of the beast is nothing new.
What if they “fact-check” Trump real time, disagreeing with his characterization, which departs from the media orthodoxy, and mute him for lying?
I’m hoping that trump is casual and nice for 90 minutes. I want Biden to relax which will result in him screwing up. I want trump to completely demolish the weeks of prep Biden did by not giving them the ammo to use their one line singers. That’s the best pay back.
Biden’s got the real debate problem.
He put on his “Feeble Old Man w/ a Failing Memory Act”
to dupe S/C Hur, who fell for it hook line and sinker.
That act kept Biden out of jail for mishandling classified documents.
At the debate, Biden has to switch gears to win.
He’ll do his “I’m a Healthy, Smart Beacon of Democratic Leadership Act.”
From feeble to leader......that’ll be some trick.
He faces far greater threats. I for one am not the least bit concerned about Trump, and what CNN has in store, because I believe in Trump, but more importantly I have faith in the Lord. 🙂👍
