Six months to combat readiness - French instructors tell of F-16 training for Ukrainian pilots

Ten young pilots from Ukraine are currently training at an undisclosed airbase in the south of France on Alpha Jet training aircraft, considered as a bridge between a rotorcraft and an F16 fighter. In total, the French Air and Space Force has undertaken to certify the training of 26 pilots over the two years.

This is the second stage of training campaign. During the initial stage, hosted by the UK, Ukrainian pilots were working on their English language and fighter jet piloting basics. The last, third stage, when pilots will get to fly the F-16s, will most likely be held in Romania, Ukrinform reports, referring to Le Monde.

“Ukrainian pilots are 20 to 23 years old, the report notes, adding that all other personal data are classified. The intensive course includes 80 flying hours and 50 hours on the simulator alongside instructors. The timing of the training modules has been shortened in agreement with the Ukrainian side. Therefore, the training in France will last only six months instead of the usually prescribed 18.“

Another disaster.

And when they are shot down because of inexperience / russkie’s known excellent AA, then what?

NATO pilots? Wearing Ukie insignia?

Exactly when do the russkies decide the countries arming, funding, targeting, providing intelligence, & training their enemies are legit targets? It’s not as if Poland & Romania-where the logistics are done prior to moving into Ukeland- are out of range. Do we really want to find out?

Well, I suppose then maybe it will be ok, as long as we send all of Hollywood to go help.

They found the training manuals, that is one of my favorite parts of the movie, from barely above cave men to jet fighter pilots in days or weeks.

Bingo! Especially since many if not all of the countries use the international press to brag about their role.

I know there will be HUGE bounties on them. I think the first Abrams brought like $75,000 and subsequent ones a tenth that.

Putin has warned Western nations that if they arm/send Ukrainians to fire on the region within Russia's traditional boundaries, not the Russian 'territory' in traditional Ukraine, then assets of foreign countries are fair game, even within the boundaries of that foreign country.

The MSM is trying to escalate the war and recently they and the White House made it sound like they were taking the gloves off and firing on Russia proper. But what they did was fire on the region within former Ukraine where the people have voted to be independent or Russian. This area is termed 'territory' but the MSM. So, they've been firing on that 'territory' for months with rockets and missiles, and then the MSM choir and Biden made a big deal about firing on the same region, this time with jet launched missiles, as if saying, "NOW YOU'RE GONNA GET IT!"

But as I said, Putin said the 'red line' is firing on Russia proper.
The West is also setting up a stupid scenario where in the F-16's will operate out of Romania, fly into Ukraine and land in a disputed region for fuel etc., and then attack Russian troops.

Alexander Mercouris notes it's just another Western attempt to provoke Russia, because he doesn't believe that's really the plan(I agree, it sounds ridiculous). The 'real'plan is to launch attacks from Romania, which is a red-line for Putin, but the cover story is it will be Ukrainian pilots refueling in Ukraine. SO the West WANTS to start a war with a stupid ruse of pretending to touch down in Ukraine before going on attack. The Ukrainians don't have the air defenses, airfields to house the jets, how could they host them? Air defense systems in Ukraine are routinely destroyed by Russia.

It's a sick game. And Kamala Harris just gave the Ukraine another $1.6 billion dollars to play it. NATO knows it can't win and apparently is prolonging it long enough to get the war started.

I wrote notes on a recent Mercouris' video which gives a unique, insightful overview of events in Ukraine. The title of the video/thread is hideous, but the notes on it are much quicker than watching the 1 hour 20 minute video:

“Ukrainian pilots are 20 to 23 years old”

I suspect that is young.

How old are USAF fighter pilots on average?

Putin is not likely escalate if the targets are purely military.

If he feels his power is at stake, the gloves will come off.

Escalation is generally to be avoided unless victory is obtainable.

Pilot quality also depends on intelligence and innate aptitude. Pick those kinds of pilots and they can progress rapidly through training and excel in combat.

The Russians are examining responses, such as taking out the UK missile factory or a major bridge. This would be done at night to minimize British deaths.

Pinging a partial summary this thread's content and additional links to a few:

In the News/Activism forum, on a thread titled Six months to combat readiness - French instructors tell of F-16 training for Ukrainian pilots, hardspunned wrote:
“Ukrainian pilots are 20 to 23 years old, the report notes, adding that all other personal data are classified. Another disaster.

Ah, I recall reading  that all Ukrainian pilots in training were qualified Su-25 pilots. I knew this was a lie, but it's worse than I thought. I think several if not most are just now learning to fly aircraft!

For stage 2 of F-16 training, ten Ukrainian pilots, 20 to 23 years old, are training in France on simulators programmed to provide instruction for aircraft similar to F-16's, "which are considered as a bridge between a rotorcraft and an F16 fighter". Oh and since the Ukraine is in a hurry, "....the training in France will last only six months instead of the usually prescribed 18."

For the prior stage 1 of training, "Ukrainian pilots were working on their English language and fighter jet piloting basics." I think they were learning how to fly from the ground up because these guys are 20 to 23 years old now and with Russian pilots over the Ukraine for the past 2 years, I doubt many Ukrainians were taking student pilots up during that time. At present there aren't many Ukrainian migs left in the air, and the longevity of their current pilots doesn't look promising so any experienced pilots now on the ground would be expected to fly those, if any are left (either pilots or planes).

Stage 3 of training, the pilots 'get to fly the F-16s which according to reports I've read, are rebuilt older models. Some of these are on par with what Russia is flying technologically, unless Russia has also upgraded theirs. But Russia is also flying more advanced jets in the Ukraine. If Ukrainian F-16's enter the picture, Russia has more planes of superior capability to send. The F-16's are designed to be light and manueverable for close fighting (200-500 meters, machine guns? dog fighting?) whereas Russia is flying aircraft which are heavier as they are designed to carry missiles (longer range).

Alexander Mercouris dissects the claims that the F-16's will operate out of Romania but transit to Ukrainian airfields for refueling and resupply (weapons?) before going into combat - it's just a ruse to fly them out of Romania, thereby provoking Russia. Because of the lack of sufficient air defense system, which would take a few year sto build, the Ukraine can't park those F-16's in their own country. Also, the F-16's require pristine airfields to avoid sucking debris into the engine and advanced mechanics/supplies to maintain them. I don't see how they could expect to land and refuel in the Ukraine for these reasons, lack of pristine airfields, airfields, inability to build them under Russian fire and inadequate air defenses, lack of maintainance capacity. Besides, the fact that the Ukrainians can't base F-16's in country because they'd be destroyed on the ground doesn't mean they are safe if they 'just refuel and re-arm in the Ukraine; F-16's 'based' on the ground or 'refueling and resupplying' are vulnerable regardless of their reason for being there.

The Romanian 'farce' makes me suspect it would be NATO pilots flying the Ukraine's F-16's because giving new Ukrainian pilots 1/3 of the traditional combat training, most of which does not take place in the F-16's, "sounds like Japanese kamikaze training" (H/T laplata).

The billions in foreign aid, along with this training effort, and the eventual acquisition of F-16s are primarily a transfer of American wealth to NATO elites and corrupt officials in the Ukraine, as it will not change the course of the war. The reason the war is dragging on and being propped up by the puppet masters, is that NATO wants regime change in Russia and is trying to provoke WWIII to justify it's intentions.

NATO/MSM continues to posture like they are about to ‘go git ‘em’ but this is just regular contingency plans they have in place. Lots of ‘noise’ as if NATO is in a power position, but it’s losing the proxy war with Russia.

Excerpt:

The propagandists (MSM, Biden) made it seem like Biden had given Ukraine permission to nuke inside Russia, but that wasn’t true. They are just pretending they aren’t really losing and that instead, they are going to attack.

The MSM lackeys used the words ‘Russian Territory” in reports, as in “Biden has given authorization to fire missiles into Russian Territory.”
But, they didn’t mean ‘Russia’. They meant the annexed region in Eastern Ukraine where the Ukrainian government has already been firing missiles and shelling the area all along. Biden gave teh Ukraine ‘permission’ to do what it has already been doing all along - big tough guy Biden.

Also, the Biden regime /MSM propagandists made a big deal about giving missiles to the Ukraine that can reach inside Russia, but that was a lie too. The missiles have the range but the Ukrainians have to use Soviet Era launchers that cannot fire that far. Equipment we gave the Ukraine which had the potential to fire rockets that distance were reprogrammed to limit range.
