The Biden Department of Justice (DOJ) will not prosecute Attorney General Merrick Garland for contempt of Congress. In a letter to House Speaker Mike Johnson released late on Friday, the DOJ, overseen by the Attorney General, argued that the House Republican‘s contempt resolution does not preempt Joe Biden‘s assertion of executive privilege regarding audio records of two interviews he sat for with special counsel Robert Hur. Garland was held in contempt for refusing to furnish the recordings to Congress.“The longstanding position of the Department is that we will not prosecute an official for contempt of Congress for declining to provide subpoenaed information subject to a presidential assertion of executive privilege,” the letter, authored by Assistant Attorney General Carlos Felipe Uriarte reads. He adds: “Across administrations of both political parties, we have consistently adhered to the position that ‘the contempt of Congress statute was not intended to apply and could not constitutionally be applied to an Executive Branch official who asserts the President’s claim of executive privilege.'”
WHAT ABOUT BANNON & NAVARRO?
Despite Uriarte’s claim, this precedent was not extended to Dr. Peter Navarro or Stephen K. Bannon, both sentenced to jail time due to a congressional contempt charge made by the hyper-partisan January 6th committee, which fabricated information and mass-deleted evidence. Meanwhile, Garland has publicly and dubiously argued that “Releasing the audio would chill cooperation with the department in future investigations, and it could influence witnesses’ answers if they thought the audio of their law enforcement interviews would be broadcast to Congress and the public.”The DOJ letter concludes: “…the Department has determined that the responses by Attorney General Garland to the subpoenas issued by the Committees did not constitute a crime, and accordingly… will not bring the congressional contempt citation before a grand jury or take any other action to prosecute the Attorney General.”
THIS right here is definitely the way to go, I am SICK TO DEATH of the Dems obstructing the law AND republicans being a bunch of pussys!! I am not holding my breath however the republicans ARE DEMS with an R next to their name!! WE ALL MUST be far more careful of who we vote for, IF the seat goes to the Dem SO BE IT, we will have to win a seat elsewhere to make up for the lost seat!! This BS of voting BECAUSE of an R next to their name MUST STOP, we are LOSING our nation AND IT IS OUR FAULT!!
Okay fine. Send the House Sgt At Arms out and arrest him. Then do the same to any of his underlings who refuse to comply.
Hold them in the DC jail. Dare the DOJ to try to get him out.

Doesn’t the Special Counsel law require it?
Yeah, I had seen that, but did not click on the actual article, because of time constraints, plus I was also watching Bannon’s war room evening shoe. In fact, I am still watching that. 🙂

You may want to go back to his previous post as well:
If the UnJustice Department refuses to Prosecute. The Congress should chop their budget by two thirds. They should cut that budget until it hurts Badley.
BTW, what is the remedy if he refuses to show up?
Well, just send the sergeant at arms over, arrest him, and incarcerate him at the Capital (they have a few cells there I believe).
With immunity from prosecution, Meritless Garland can take a parttime gig as the Big Guy’s new bag man.
Trump administration day 1, Garland is arrested by Peter Navarro and sent to jail in leg irons

But I still appreciate the knowledge. If I can remember it, as memory tuns low. 🤣
This calls for the House to file a mandamus or whatever writ demanding that a federal court appoint a special prosecutor OR they just file lawsuit demanding The AG be mandamused to appoint one to go after the AG. There is an OBVIOUS conflict of interest.
I’m starting to believe the only way out of this is a third party of MAGA people. It seems too difficult to root the RINO’s out of the republican party, the whole party has seemed to have shift leftward.
Conversations by the President when he is talking to a top aide may (e.g. Navarro, Bannon, etc.) be subject of executive privilege and not divulged BUT certainly NOT being interviewed by law enforcement or a prosecutor!! Beam me up!
As for creating a new party, let's let the old Republican GOPe create that. We have made serious inroads into seizing control of this established party, just like the leftists did for the Democrat Party. so, stay the course. If we can deliver Trump and a Republican Party that is more amenable to the MAGA movement, then we will have created something that inspires more MAGA minded people to run for office, and less moderates who have played footsies with the communist opposition party. In addition, we will have created a base that will be far more loyal than the current party has mustered with their treasonous behavior.
So, stay strong & work towards that endgame. 🙂👍
If I remember right then The democrats ran straight to the USSC on privilege issues. I am not hearing that the republicans are going to do anything about it. The DOJ is clearly and corruptly in the wrong.
Also this country needs some serious changes. The DOJ should not be able to police itself. And congress should have just defunded them.
The Pooper of the US can make things that make him look bad Super Top Secret but no one else can do the same!
Thanks for the words of encouragement, let’s just hope we don’t run out of time.
