A now-retired top U.S. admiral was arrested Friday on federal bribery charges for allegedly steering contracts to a company in exchange for future employment while he was the commander of Navy forces in Europe, according to the Justice Department.

Robert Burke allegedly directed the lucrative Navy contracts to the company in 2021 while serving as a four-star admiral, and it later hired him in 2022 for a starting salary of $500,000 per year. Two New York executives with the company were also arrested Friday for alleged roles in the bribery scheme.

Another sign they are getting ready for war.

Just like Putin they are arresting and charging the crooks and rip-off men.

They should subject the entire retired officer corps to the same standard, starting with the Secretary of Defence.

Whey hasn’t Biden been arrested? He’s the one that sought the biggest bribes in Europe and China and elsewhere. The naval commander is small potatoes compared to Biden’s never-ending bribe deals.

“U.S. Attorney Matthew Graves”

Yeah. On the indicting side. The puke who is busily imprisoning the entire Republican party. Whose wifey says things like “y’all gon have ta git used to trans women on sports teams cuz that’s just the way it is”.

Every Flag officer knows the rules for post separation employment and it’s always scrutinized heavily. No way this guy jumped the process, it’s automatic.

This is some sort of Rat purge gig.

They’ve probably been investigating him since he first declared he was in employment talks with the company. This arrest I don’t think has anything to do with war.

So basically if they start going after officers for this won’t most Admirals be prosecuted? This sort of stuff it rampant in the DoF. SESes too.

Unless he was in procurement, that wasn’t all that easy to do.

Like to know more details.

They didn’t arrest him because of his crime, they arrested him because the payback job should have gone to one of their boys instead of him.

Who did the admiral piss off/on? The Chair Force ‘retired’ generals do this and get away with it.

Wait till they learn how small arms procurement has worked for the last twenty years.

The two business executives also arrested with Burke were Yongchul “Charlie” Kim and Meghan Messenger, who each face 20-year sentences.

The indictment lists the pair as leading a company that “provided a workforce training pilot program to a small component of the Navy from August 2018 through July 2019.” Although neither the indictment nor the Justice Department named the company, based on publicly available information, it appears to be Next Jump.
