Justice Alito to Senate Dems on Demand to Recuse: Kiss My Pine Tree Covered Asterisk

Well...okay.

Maybe the man didn't EXACTLY say that. I might have employed a little poetic license, but come on now - the effect is the same.

He said "no" to politely worded requests for recusal in a couple kind of important cases coming up that Dems would dearly love to puncture the conservative court majority in any way they could.

MY WIFE IS FOND OF FLYING FLAGS

Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito on Wednesday rejected Democratic lawmakers’ requests that he recuse himself from key cases related to former President Donald Trump and the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot following reports that flags linked to Trump’s supporters were flown at his properties.

Alito said in two letters to the lawmakers that he had “nothing whatsoever to do with the flying of” an upside-down U.S. flag at his Virginia home days before the inauguration of President Joe Biden.

Alito also said he had “no involvement” in flying a flag bearing the “Appeal to Heaven” symbol in the backyard of his vacation home in the summer of 2023.

Rather, he said in the letters, his wife was “solely responsible” for putting up the flagpoles and flying “a wide variety of flags over the years.”

“My wife is fond of flying flags. I am not,” Alito wrote.

I AM NOT

Boomity.

And it was Dick Durbin and Sheldon (Only) White(s in the club)house who sent the letter to begin with. Lord - the jokes write themselves.

BREAKING: Justice Alito just denied Senator Durbin and Whitehouse's demand that he recuse himself from the Trump J6 case over the upside down flag his wife flew outside their house because of a dispute with their neighbor pic.twitter.com/9TeR190SaT— Greg Price (@greg_price11) May 29, 2024

It was kind of a personal response to such an obvious power play though. I mean, can't the man control his wife when she gets fired up?

And that's not how I read it, honestly. I'm still laughing about how the Left took it.

From what I've heard of the neighbors involved in the dispute, Mrs. Alito ran into a nasty case of privilege in the next-door neighbors. They are rumored to have been a 30-something, BLM-loving progressive couple living, along with their "Pandemic puppy" (and WTF even IS that?), temporarily with parents until they got jobs (?) and could put their own roof over their vile heads.

And vile they certainly sounded like they were, which aptly describes most of the entitled, opinionated, uncontrolled, ego-centric monsters of that generation.

I'll bet Mrs. Alito was pissed. Bad enough, thanks to Merrick Garland, that she has to live with protestors on the lawn. But when the neighbor's adult juvenile delinquents feel they can follow and harass her down the street with impunity?

Something's going to blow.

...But he noted that she was “greatly distressed at the time due, in large part, to a very nasty neighborhood dispute in which I had no involvement.”

Alito said that a house on her street displayed a sign “attacking her personally,” and that a male resident of that house “trailed her” down the street and berated her with “foul language, including what I regard as the vilest epithet that can be addressed to a woman.”

Martha-Ann Alito “is a private citizen” who “makes her own decisions,” Alito wrote, adding that she has had to endure “numerous, loud, obscene, and personally insulting protests in front of our home” as a result of his service on the high court.

Those protests “continue to this day and now threaten to escalate,” he wrote.

All for a flag that, until this weekend, was acceptable in all the bluest places no matter who else had flown it or where.

The narrative talking points went out over an almost three-year-old incident, and the orchestrated freak-out was in full bloom.

To the extent that the San Francisco Chronicle thought nothing of trying to dox whoever was flying the standard over a building - maybe their home - in the city. The newspaper put them on full blast on X as perpetrators of a "brazen" public offense, who, the inference was, must be found and exposed...at the very least.

As I said repeatedly in comment threads, I hope whoever the flag belonged to had the wherewithal to sue the Schlitz out of that vicious rag if one hair on a family member's head - or any of their property - was damaged by a rabid flag burner inspired by and directed to their property by the Chronicle's brazen and flagrant doxing attempt on a private citizen.

The second the Trump verdict comes out, whatever it is, all this will blow over.

But until the next big outrage, good for Alito sticking to his guns and sticking it to a Congress that should be minding its own p's and q's.

"Go away, you bother me" works.

Interesting that the two justices most noted for their fidelity to the Constitution and their oaths, Thomas and Alito, both have wives who also support the Constitution.

the senators are doing the equivalent of judge shopping.

Trying to win cases by choosing a group of judges likely to rule the way that they favor.

Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot

'Twas not a riot. The lies and propaganda are pervasive and insidious.

Justice Alito is a national hero. He’s one of the greatest patriots and defenders of the constitution in American history. I hope that someday he’ll be recognized as such.

the Putz Durbin is suffering from #ComDem_Insanity!

It is an incurable mental disorder, so nothing can make him recover from it.

The flag was flown by a known political agitator and armed revolutionary who led a violent demonstration against the established government. Some guy named Washington.

No. It won't.

You see that is the problem. People think everything will just go back to "normal".

It won't.

On to the next target, on to the next frivolous lawsuit, on to the next bla-bla-bla...

The Revolution requires it.

Maybe we should start, I don’t know, maybe... fighting back or something.

Oh, we can not do that.

It would be MEAN!

Like accurately quoting what a liberal said previously is mean.

Or pointing out reality is mean.

Or trying to prevent people from taking your stuff is mean.
