Pope blasts Texas AG Paxton's suit to shut down migrant-aiding Catholic charity

In a rare TV interview, Pope Francis lambasted Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton's attempt to shut down an El Paso-based Catholic charity that assists migrants, even calling the state's legal action "madness."

Francis' comments came during Sunday's episode of CBS's 60 Minutes. During that interview, taped in April interview at the Vatican, journalist Norah O'Donnell asked the pontiff what his thoughts were on Texas' bid to shut down Annunciation House, the El Paso-based nonprofit.

"That is madness. Sheer madness. To close the border and leave them there, that is madness," Francis said. "The migrant has to be received. Thereafter you see how you are going to deal with him. Maybe you have to send him back, I don't know, but each case ought to be considered humanely, right?"

Catholic Charities are no better than coyotes who are guilty of human trafficking.

The Pope should be indicted under the RICO statutes.

Every law abiding state in America should be filing lawsuits!

Not a bad analogy, unf.

I really don’t think the Pope knows this. Others disagree, obviously — others who have no clue about what leadership at that level must entail. “Advisors,” lots of them. Were there not traitors “advising” Trump? Of course there were. Not comparing the two — except as both are/were executives of massive entities.

The Pope may by disposition be susceptible (or may not) but it’s not as if he’s orchestrating all this. Like every other leader, he’s being led, imho.

Maybe the Pope should open the Vatican and other Catholic seminaries and facilities across the world to immigrants? Maybe catholic churches in American could house them?

Antipope Bergolio wants his sweet federal subsidy for colonizing and Balkanizing America. May God call this communist jerk home soon for judgement.

The Pope is a dope.
Nothing more.
Perhaps a lot less.
It is interesting that the party of immorality, Christian bashing, Muzzie love, and all things awful, chooses to use the Pope as some sort of a “good” example. At least the left appears to support the one ‘religion’ that actually condones lying (the prime pillar of the DemocRAT party).

So no one group on the planet should be allowed to prosper and use that prosperity to advance all of humanity. The whole planet is just supposed to be poor and shitty forever. Is that it, Pope?

Some day Frank might make a statement that's consistent with what I was taught in Catholic school in the 1950s/1960s or with things that Pope John Paul II would have made.

But that day hasn't come yet.

Tell that punk to bring them into the Vatican. He has plenty of room and I’m sure some of the priests would love roommates

Catholic Charities would never undermine and try to subvert a sovereign nation not under their control - would they?

How many illegal aliens have been welcomed in Rome and the Vatican???...that’s right not a damned one.

Perhaps it’s time for Governor Abbott to switch from motor coaches to overseas flights for a few thousand of them.....I’m sure they’d love a trip to Italy.....one way of course.

It’s not a charity; it’s a foreign subversive organization focused on destroying this country.

As for their claim they rely completely on donations and that they’ve never accepted government funding, I’ll bet dollars to donuts they’ve signed onto NGO contracts to handle ‘migrants’ in one way or another.

Every law abiding state in America should be filing lawsuits!

That’s the truth, and against every NGO in business to facilitate the invasion of the United States of America. Border open, someone has to be in charge of transportation, housing, health care, food clothing etc etc.

It’s all payed legal like to NGO’s in the “legal” business of doing business for and in behalf of your corrupt Government using our tax dollars.

Don’t forget Lutheran Social Services while you are at it.
