Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) slammed Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito for an American flag that flew upside down at his Virginia home in 2021, saying that despite tensions reportedly running high in the neighborhood at the time, it was “not good judgment” on Alito’s part.
“Emotions are apparently high in that neighborhood,” Graham told reporters Monday. “But no, it’s not good judgment to do that. He said his wife was insulted and got mad. I assume that to be true, but he’s still a Supreme Court justice, and people have to realize that [at] moments like that to think it through.”
The Senate Judiciary Committee’s ranking member delivered the criticism of the conservative justice following a report from The New York Times last week, featuring a photo of the flag flying upside down outside Alito’s home.

I don’t know about everyone else, but Sen. Lindsey Graham’s rants are getting tiresome to me.
I heard that his wife put it that way!
Also, I’m tired of lib crocodile tears the few times ever that someone hangs it upside down. That is merely a sign of distress, not a disrespect of the flag, per se.
This from the jackasses who stomp on the ground a flag, and burn it, and demand they have every right to.
Meanwhile, no one ever asks why the US flag is CONSTANTLY being put at half-staff.
To me that is disrespectful to the flag and MUCH more disrespectful to the nation. This constant weak bowing over every little slight.
Used to be that was strictly for “heads of state”.
Every American enjoys a freedom of expression, not of good judgement only.
Things are dire in this country so I don’t have a problem with an upside down flag.
My flag has been upside down since the Manchurian Candidate was elected and it also has a red and blue stripe on it. And those that object can kiss my a$$.

I thought upside down flag signals distress. Given the state of our nation, seems to be an appropriate comment, not disrespectful.
“I had no involvement whatsoever in the flying of the flag,” Justice Alito said in an emailed statement to the New York Times. “It was briefly placed by Mrs. Alito in response to a neighbor’s use of objectionable and personally insulting language on yard signs.”
While is an exercise in futility, pointlessness and does nothing to fix anything, I get flag stamps for my bills that I mail out and I place them upside down. It’s my pointless protest. When you are powerless to change any of this garbage, it makes me feel like I’m doing something.
And yes, the mail still get delivered, I’ve been doing this for 4 years now.
