Carville: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Will Hurt Trump More than Biden
Breitbart ^ | 05/20/2024 | Pam Key

Posted on 05/21/2024 6:43:55 AM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

Democratic strategist James Carville said Monday on MSNBC’s “Inside” that presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will take votes from former President Donald Trump.

Host Jen Psaki said, “Let me ask you about RFK Jr. because this is like another question that comes up a lot as you are talking to people. He will not be on the first debate stage. You told my colleague Ari Melber, you think he might hurt Trump more than Biden. That is what the NBC polls say too for people who are anxious out there, given how much he is getting in the polls. Should the Biden supporters be anxious? Or do you feel less anxious about it now?”

Carville said, “I will put this into this in the River Parishes vernacular. I ain’t stuttering about no RFK. I think RFK is almost sure to hurt Trump more than hurting President Biden. And we shouldn’t be worried about him.”

The “Republican” women who might vote for RFK Jr. were/are NEVER going to vote for Trump. They will/would vote for RFK Jr., some other 3rd party candidate, or stay home.

Carville strategy has always been if the truth isn’t convenient, then why bother with it.

Good point about Perot, whose ego put Bill Clinton in office.

Whereas conservatives actually supported Perot as a reformer, it seems likely that most of RFK, Jr’s support comes from protest voters, disgusted with both Trump and Biden.

Trump and Biden want to drive up each other’s negatives, and Biden obviously wants to portray Trump as much further to the right than he really is (thus the constant “fascist dictator” talk in leftist media). Trump should do more to kill the fascist angle (maybe by talking up the rule of law versus the Dems creeping totalitarianism/the threat to freedom posed by the Dems’ abuse of the courts), while nudging RFK,Jr to the Left.

Republican Never Trumpers will use RFK as their trashcan to throw away their vote rather than vote for non cognizant Biden. No skin off Trump because they were never going to vote for him anyway But Democrats, realizing the non cognizant nature of their candidate, will recognize RFK as another progressive Democrat to transfer their vote. These are lost votes to Biden because many would still have voted for non cognizant Biden to keep Trump out of office if they didn’t have a Dem alternative to vote for. Trump is right playing up to Dems that RFK is a liberal Democrat alternative for them to move them from Biden to RFK and split the Dem vote

Re: "RFK - Abortion 180"

Thanks for posting, montag.

I had no idea RFK flipped on Late Term abortion.

I thought RFK might be hoping that Biden would die or be forced out, and that the Democratic Party would give serious consideration to nominating RFK for President.

Zero chance of that now.

Back to my original instincts...

RFK's single minded 2024 mission is to pull Independent voters away from Trump in half a dozen critical swing states.

Carville: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Will Hurt Trump More than Biden

I'm thinking - are democrats planning to pervert/change ballots that vote for Trump into ballots that vote for RFK Jr? If so, this would be a cheating method they can use to help 'explain' why Trump lost.

Trumps base is 99% locked in. Bidens base is much smaller and crumbling. Anyone with a brain understands that RFKjr is not even close to conservative or even libertarian.

dimocrats who are fed up with joe are most likely to vote for RFK and independents are hit an miss. At one time, most independents were snobby, better than you liberals who’s claim was that they always consider both sides and thought themselves true down the middle independents who always came out on the left when they weighed all the “facts”. lol.

They’re not that bad anymore but I think a majority of them are still snobby better than you types who vote for the left. But most independents are going to vote for Trump.

Kennedy takes votes from Biden in Democrat states and from Trump in Republican states. The big question is whether he matters in the swing states which matter.

The difference from 1992 is that Democrats own the bad economy (worse than the economy was then). In 1992, people who would otherwise vote for a Republican and not for a Democrat voted for Perot. It stands to reason that this year it will be democrats who will be doing more defecting. Also, anti-Trump Republicans already defected in 2016 and 2020. How many more are there to defect?

Is there any magic left to the Kennedy name? Are Latinos and African-Americans, who loved Bobby Sr. still enchanted by the Kennedy mystique. It doesn’t look like it. And the little old Irish ladies who loved Jack and Bobby aren’t around anymore.

Exactly. Occam's Razor. There is literally no other reason for his 180 on LT abortion, as only MAGAs made a stink about it. Democrats could not care less about the unborn.

Trump supporters need to stop giving this druggie fraud a minute of their time.

Carville needs to team up with Rove for a two-man comedy act.

If that were true, Biden would insist his participation at the debates, and he would not be suing to prevent RFK’s ballot access. Carville is lying.

Exactly. Believe what they do, not what they say.

The margin is different so Biden can afford less defection than Trump. It will be interesting to see where the media end up, especially after the debate if it comes down to supporting Trump v. potential loss of pharma money. An existential crisis for the msm if ever there was one.
