Senator Mark Kelly (R-AZ) said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that he supported eliminating the filibuster to codify abortion rights.
Host Kristen Welker said, “Let’s talk about what’s happening in your state, Arizona, is now effectively ground zero for the national fight over abortion rights. This week, the state legislature voted to repeal Arizona’s ban that went all the way back to 1864. Do you think the repeal minimizes the urgency that some voters will feel to get out and vote for Democrats?”

“Nobody on Free Republic ever talks about the federal law which bans partial birth abortion. ... That law was upheld by the US Supreme Court.”
Following is a summary of the Supreme Court’s conclusion. The conclusion explicitly does not address all abortions.
“The Supreme Court’s decision upheld Congress’s ban and held that it did not impose an undue burden on the due process right of women to obtain an abortion.”

They will rot in hell.

Ok ya got me-both of you. I’m guilty of seeing Kelly-R Az. in the Breitbart report. Fake news by one of our own. Like National Review the founders death wasn’t good.
“Never heard of him. State legislature right? Gotta be the minor leagues.”
He’s one of the POS RAT U.S. Senators from Arizona. The only time they hear from him is when he is looking for money or votes.
"Dem Sen. Kelly: I Support Eliminating the Filibuster to Codify Abortion Rights"
FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument
Since the word abortion is not found in the Constitution, the constitutionally limited power federal government has no power to make policy for abortion.
"From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]." —United States v. Butler, 1936.
Just like Pelosi, Kelly is trying to keep desperate Democrats and RINOs in power by scandalously exploiting constitutionally low-information voters imo, trying to win their votes for OBiden with campaign promises of unconstitutional, politically correct abortion rights. Such voters have probably never been taught about federal government's constitutionally limited powers.
Probably the main reason that Democratic and RINO crook politicians support abortion is so that they can continue to pocket their share of unconstitutional federal taxes, such taxes arguably stolen state revenues (citizen's wallets), collected by Congress's abuse of repealable 16th Amendment.
"16th Amendment : The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived [emphasis added], without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration."
Again, Congress has no express constitutional power to legislatively address abortion.
Democrats [and RINOs] Are Terrified Of An Educated And Informed Public (3.12.23)
DemoRats pols are no different than prostitutes. They will sell their services and souls for power and wealth. The ‘John’s’ here are mostly emotionally driven leftist females who are driven by fear that their precious women’s rights are endangered because Roe v Wade was overturned. The vast majority of those same leftist women would never have an abortion themselves. They are one trick pony voters and DemRat pols pimp for their votes coupled with their PR vocal outrages for the cause. Innocent babies blood be damned!
You *******s aren’t going to “codify” anything.
Stomp your feet all you want.
And many, many Republicans.
There are very few true servant leaders in our midst.
These idiots don’t get it. The Supreme Court didn’t “outlaw” it, they said it’s a state decision. It’s still a state decision.
They might if we don’t get rid of the RINO’s.
Just another one trying to legalize murder of the unborn on a national scale.
“...national fight over abortion rights...”
There is no national fight over abortion rights. That was relieved from the federal government when Roe was overturned and it was reduced to states determinations internally. This is just a ploy for the voters to think there is something happening that isn’t and trying to drag it into the mix for voters and using it as a selling ploy for liberals.

And he sure as hell is not “R-AZ”!
Getting rid of the filibuster is a viable tactic only if one expects their party to be in power forever.
No biggie. He’s also a twin astronaut who uses his brain-damaged wife for a prop.
Use a freaking condom. Better yet, close your stupid thighs and save a baby. These people make me puke. GOD said that anyone who harms a child, it would be better to tie a millstone around your neck and jump in the ocean. How about, just jumping in with the millstone BEFORE you destroy a life. Maybe your makers should have aborted these stupid people and saved everyone a lot of time and trouble.
This is not news.
Manchin and Sinema are both on record as opposing any move to undo the filibuster rule. This obstructs the maneuver.
However, both will be gone in January.
Additionally, they have provided cover for other Dem Senators who might be opposed. It has always been understood that such a thing eases policy in either direction. A GOP majority with no filibuster obstruction could do many things the left would violently oppose. That reality has held the filibuster rule in place for a long time.
