District Attorney Sandra Doorley repeatedly ignored officer commands when stopped for speeding in Webster this week — telling them she was the DA, didn’t care about the reason for the stop and that they should leave, footage released by the Town of Webster shows.
“I am the DA of Monroe County,” she told the officer at one point in the interaction captured by the officer’s body worn camera. “...I don’t really care. You know what, if you give me a traffic ticket, that’s fine. I’m the one that prosecutes it, OK? Just go ahead and do it. Go ahead. Go ahead.”
Doorley was caught going 55 in a 35 mph zone at 6 p.m. Monday on Phillips Road in Webster. She did not immediately stop but continued to her house on Fallen Leaf Terrace roughly a mile away. The officer pursued with his lights and siren on, records show.
In a statement Thursday, she said she called Webster Police Chief Dennis Kohlmeier from her vehicle so officers would know she wasn’t a threat. In the body worn camera video, she told the officer that she "was on the phone with Dennis, telling him, why are you pulling me over?”

“I believe in responsibility for my actions and have no intention of using my position to receive a benefit,” Doorley wrote in a statement released Thursday. “Nobody, including your District Attorney, is above the law, including traffic laws.”

So much for "no intention" of using your position to receive a benefit.
She should have been arrested, cuffed and booked into jail and charged with fleeing, obstruction, disobeying a lawful order, etc. in addition to the traffic citation.
BWC footage in article, infuriating to watch.
In 2015, Doorley switched her party affiliation to the GOP, and was reelected later that year in an election.
Yep. I just found that as well, was always a dem to run as “first female DA” and switched party for likely electoral reasons.
Total misuse of office. Being a DA doesn’t mean you can speed.
Depends on how well the cops think she supports them.
Any one else would have been severely beaten and rightly so.
Don’t know about NY but in PA the DA has absolute authority to determine what charges higher than summaries can be brought to trial.
However, most motor vehicle infractions are summaries and hence below the DA’s radar.
About 25 minutes or so into the video,
the officer says not stopping for the lights and siren
is an arrest-able offense but he just wants to write
her a ticket and get it over with.
Do you think he would do that for me or you?
They should do a breathalyzer on her and test for drugs. Why would she get so worked up over a speeding ticket? Her arrogance and entitlement is something else.
New York State
There are way too many arrogant, entitled politicians who feel they are above the law. Even at the local level. I despise them.
The body cam video shows the coordinates of her house.
The cops were very good in the video. I’m impressed that they didn’t really care who she was. The supervisor even chewed her out.
Which State did it happen?
None of the ol' "you do something for me, I'll do something for you, one hand washes the other, know what I mean" routine?
She does not need a badge and a gun.
Get her out of there.

She issued the statement after being made aware that the footage was being mad epublic. What an entitled wench.
