The New York judge overseeing former President Trump’s hush money trial said Monday that Trump cannot attend arguments on presidential immunity at the Supreme Court next week.

The decision to not allow Trump to be in Washington, D.C., on April 25, when the Supreme Court is set to hear oral arguments on a presidential immunity claim Trump is making in his federal criminal case, came just before the New York trial adjourned Monday.
“Arguing before the Supreme Court is a big deal, and I can certainly appreciate why your client would want to be there, but a trial in New York Supreme Court … is also a big deal,” Judge Juan Merchan said to Trump lawyer Todd Blanche, rejecting his request to let the former president play hooky.

Yes, he should go. I’m hearing back-to-back recommendations by all of the talking heads on Fox saying the same. Graduation happens once. Imagine the judge throwing him in jail for that?! I bet that would rally parents, regardless of party.

Oh sure, some peon judge who sits in a New York Court room has the Constitutional authority to tell a President that he can’t attend hearings for a case that same President has in front of the Supreme Court? Somebody needs to smack this gnat once and for all. He’s got a God complex.
Maybe Trump’s lawyers could ask a SCOTUS judge to compel a lessor court to explain why they are denying a petitioner the opportunity to appear. Especially since the lower court is just starting the juror questioning stage. It would pose no hardship on the lessor court to grant Trump’s request.
The reversible error just keeps getting bigger.

Does the State of NY have legal authority to arrest a former President? Will the Secret Service let a former President be taken to an unsafe prison environment? You know if Trump goes to prison he will be Epstein-ed!
I would just show up at the SCOTUS and see how it plays out.

Trump is a prisoner of the leftist justice system. He’s suffering the consequences of a conviction, without having gone thru the convictions.
