Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ) said Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation” that women in his state could die from a 123-year-old law that bans nearly all abortions except to save the life of the mother.
Partial transcript as follows:
MARGARET BRENNAN: I want to ask you about what’s happening in your home state of Arizona, as you know the State Court ruled an 1864 Civil War era law can take effect that would criminalize abortion, it’s on hold at the moment, but this is a live issue. Do you have confidence that your state legislators will take action before it goes into effect?

The only reason his ass was accepted into the space program is because NASA wanted to see how twins would react to a couple of Disney rides. One as a passenger up to the space station and then riding around in orbit on the ISS.
So Trump appointed the AZ Supreme Court justices who upheld that old law??? Is that what the deranged astronaut is saying?
Yep.
Trump was around way back then? Wow.
You'll have to defeat him in an election.
When Mark Kelly or Reuben Gallego speak, get the Kleenex. Arizona people are very easily fooled!
If this law is so horrible, why wasn’t it repealed during the 49 years before Roe v. Wade was overturned?
U.S. senators cannot be recalled; neither can representatives. There is no recall in the U.S. Constitution, only in some state constitutions. People in AZ will have to live with their tragic choices.
I do believe that, Arizona went ‘blue’ in the 2020 election, and Mark Kelly proves exactly what the Arizona ruling was going after.
There are people in Arizona’s republican party who don’t want Trump to run in or win the 2024 election. So, those ‘never Trump’ decision-makers in that state wanted the democrats to come out and condemn the republican and Trump stance on abortion. It’s a way to get Trump to lose the state of Arizona, just like the democrats and never-Trump republicans want. It’s a traitor-like decision by republicans in that state.
They were looking long and hard for a way to get Trump, and going back to the 1800s was their way. Democrats are having a field day with that ruling, and abortion is the only issue which democrats have a winner on. The republican decision-makers knew that and went for it. They don’t want Trump to win the state and they’re proving to be no better than democrats there.
We wouldn’t need all these dead infants if the far-left, lesbo skanks would keep the turkey basters in the drawers.
Maybe Mark Kelly would like to make a bet on how many women die because of this? 100 to 1 odds for each woman. If he’s right (and not lying) he can bankrupt most conservatives) If he’s lying he’ll lose everything... Come on Mark Kelly put your money where you’re mouth is. Didn’t Mark Kelly tell us when Roe fell that there would be no abortion anywhere in the United States?
How many "excess deaths" amongst Arizona women have there been between 1864 and 1973 when Roe v. Wade was decided?

Thanks guys.
Just my wishful thinking
I saw just how opportunistic this guy was years and years ago.
He milked that thing for all he could.
And how many women have died directly due to this 1864 law since 1864?
Yes I’ve seen pictures from 1864 and there, by golly, is President Donald Trump oppressing women who just want the freedom to terminate a baby.
Astronauts used to make Americans proud.
Mark Kelly is a morally bankrupt politician. Shame on him!
One day my worker didn't show up for work. I called him. He said he was down in NYC because his girlfriend was getting an abortion. It was a three day procedure of removing bits and pieces of the baby. They were staying in a hotel during this time.
Conclusion: If someone wants an abortion they are very well capable to travel to another State... and able to get funding for it.
Women could die from being punched in the face in NY City too, but I don’t see you trying to stop that from happening.
Menken’s law - if A injures B on behalf of X, A is a scoundrel.
Women are prefectly capable of taking up the cudgel agains Trump without the uninsured Mark Kelly doing anything. Kelly is a scoundrel.
