The Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine was damaged Sunday in a drone attack, the International Atomic Energy Agency said, calling the strike “a serious incident (with) potential to undermine integrity of the reactor’s containment system.”

In a statement posted to X, the IAEA stressed that the damage at the Russian-controlled facility “has not compromised nuclear safety.”

The drone attack included three direct hits against the facility’s main reactor containment, the agency’s director-general, Rafael Grossi, said on X. One person died as a result of the attack, he added.

“This is a clear violation of the basic principles for protecting Europe’s largest (nuclear power plant). Such reckless attacks significantly increase the risk of a major nuclear accident and must cease immediately,” Grossi said.

I am waiting for the war cheerleaders to say Russia bombed their own reactor…good to see the world waking up to the Ukie’s play book…blew Nordstream, terrorist attacks inside Russia, maintaining a world wide kill list ( which has Americans on it)…the list is growing.

I am waiting for the people of Ukraine to revolt. They cannot vote Z out...he won’t permit elections. The people are likely getting little info...and what they do get is more than likely “Tokyo Rose” info.

Just like I wouldn’t be surprised if attack on concert was allowed to happen, if not orchestrated. Three drones hit plant, no damage, yup Ukraine did it/s

“So do you also believe the Russians blew up their own pipeline?”

Absolutely. Qui Bono? Putin.

Russia was contractually obligated to supply gas at rates set prior to the Ukraine war. When open market rates skyrocketed after the invasion Russia blew the pipeline to initiate a force majur cancellation of contracts. Russia then then sold the gas at much higher open market rates via alternate routes and 3rd parties.

As I noted yesterday, if the Neocons cannot take control of Ukraine, they will make damn sure that NO ONE is able to live there - as this attack shows.

Russia has systemically destroyed all of Ukraines power generation with the exception of 3 nuke plants. Ukraine has 3 situated around Kiev. These provacations are the Uke’s way of trying to get Russia to eliminate their last means of electrical production. The Ukrainians had advocated destoying this Zprizhzhia plant to spread radiation in order to make defense of the land easier. Russia may just make it easier to defend around Kiev by destroying the cooling operations of the three plants in current operation.

Destruction of the three nuke plants near Kiev could be the basis of the creation of a wide DMZ area which NATO will not want to occupy. During the cold war a 200-mile radiation buffer zone was oftentimes proposed as the last detoniations of a limited nuclear conflict to finally separate two peoples at war.

"Russian-controlled Zaporizhzhia nuclear reactor damaged following drone attack"

"...the IAEA stressed that the damage at the Russian-controlled facility “has not compromised nuclear safety.” "

So the reactor really isn't damaged?

So you're saying Russia attacked itself?

Sorry Jon I thought you were referring to my comment on possible scenarios for concert attack

As with that comment, I don’t put it past them doing it

Don’t put it past third parties or Ukranians

Seems odd that the unit was attacked by drones that were not going to do any damage and that air defense did not react.

Imagine the site is well protctd

As with that comment, I don’t put it past them doing it

And the scenarios are close to the same

Don’t put it past third parties or Ukranians

Seems odd that the unit was attacked by drones that were not going to do any damage and that air defense did not react.

Imagine the site is well protected
