It didn’t take long for Oregon to realize decriminalizing hard drugs was a bad idea.
On Tuesday, Gov. Tina Kotek, a Democrat, signed legislation that recriminalizes drug possession, reversing Measure 110, which 58 percent of voters approved in 2020. By August, however, 56 percent of Oregonians disapproved after a major uptick in overdose deaths and addiction in the state. Lawmakers from both parties got to work drafting legislation to reverse the measure.

....... one thing I’ve learned is that leftists do not learn
from failure and keep pushing the same failed ideas.......
Just look up Kensington Avenue in Philly on YouTube.
The left doesn’t care about the results of their ideas, only the feeling they get from forcing them down our throats. A failed idea that is forced on us is a victory for the left.
The self-hated is so intense, the left will do
anything just to “feel good” about themselves.
Tina tampon fails again!
When will they end the “experiment” of not really enforcing the law anyway?
How many more people died of overdoses 8n those years that it,was legal to burn their brains out with drugs?
How much did crime increase? How many more victims were created by the law? How many more innocent people were murdered beczuse druggies needed $$?
Who is gonna be held accountable for the increased death and misery, caused by the asinine decriminalization of drugs? (Rhetorical)
The world has gone freaking insane!
It was a vote on an initiative petition that made this law, originally. Direct democracy...with pretty limited participation. The same election that saw draconian gun restrictions (barely) passed. (Since deemed un-Constitutional.)
Just the hard drugs, right? Meth, cocaine and heroin are still okay, right?
The voters could repeal this with another ballot measure.
Which wouldn’t surprise me, knowing the idiots who live in this state.
A generalization that is only characteristic of the portland south
to eugene cartel on the i/5 corridor.
If, like golf, handicaps for the rest of the state were in place, this
nonsense would have never started.
The self-loathing of leftists knows no bounds. If only they were strong enough to take themselves out quickly rather dragging society down with them.
From the ashes, build anew in their own image
A person who builds, finds it hard to destroy.
A person who destroys, lacks ability to build.
Just a thought.
new oregon court case. The government let me get hooked, so where are my reparations now that they made it illegal.
"HB 4002 is not a perfect solution; legislators will undoubtedly have much more work to do in upcoming sessions. But it sets a standard for how the state should approach the drug addiction crisis: by empowering law enforcement and our behavioral health systems to work together to help Oregonians struggling with chronic addiction seek life-saving treatment."
I actually support this approach.
Just little children making silly demands until it backfires.
Oregon, specifically Portland, is a nightmare.
Last visit there I had a huge druggie demand I give him my Batman T-shirt.
Another druggie demanded money on the train. I just got out and waited for the next train. Same druggies in that one.
Finally even my liberal family moved out. But moved back to California.
