I think California wants people to stop eating at fast food places and eat healthier. It’s for their own good...says the government of California. lol

“It’s the politicians and their voters.”

Many of whom are fast-food employees...

*United States v. Darby United States v. Darby is a Supreme Court of the United States case that revolves around the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 and issues of federalism.*

This is a very good post! Has doodlebob been taken over by the pod people?

Democrats are your friends. They’ll fight for a higher minimum wage while you’re employed, and higher food stamp benefits when you lose your job.

#1 Running a business in the red is untenable whether or not the owner has sufficient money to retire.

Exactly. That comment about having enough money to retire was stupid.

Running a fast-food business in the red means, regardless of how much money you have, you'll soon have less.

Wait. It only applies if you have 60 or more locations? and that is a "small" business? Does the owner have stores in other states, and he's only shutting down the California locations?

The article implies there is only one store...

So the owner must have enough $$$$ to retire. Must be nice.

So THAT’S what happens when a person shutters their business.

The owner may not have retired but pulled his investment in the restaurant to invest in something else.

That, or decided to set up shop in another state.

Because that's what victims do when a pfascist regime targets them.

....................................

How sad she was sold a lie that big daddy Uncle Sam will raise her family. I hope she wakes up.

Why would you assume that? There is no evidence.

It’s a democrat stunt for votes. It helps no one.

Minimum wage goes up.
All other companies that use the minimum wage as a base now raise everyone’s salary/wage.
Prices go up EVERYWHERE to cover the new wage expense.
The minimum wage worker is right back at the bottom.

Unintended consequences.

Something about liberals that they cannot process this simple truth.

The lawmakers who made the laws and the beneficiaries of the laws literally have no idea how businesses work.

They ‘think’ the businesses are out there just price gouging their corporate hearts out and making the profit off the backs of its workers and just set a price for a huge profit, so if a worker is mandated more money, they can just raise the prices to compensate irrespective of competition or people just not buying their services anymore.. Either that or just take the costs out of its profits.

This is their result. More to come.

>>>Nonetheless, if the law exists at all, it still affects those to whom it may not apply.>>>

Wouldn’t it positively affect those to whom it doesn’t apply? Since they can pay their workers less than the big boys, aren’t they now at a competitive pricing advantage?

No, they’ll just end up selling the business quickly at some loss and move away from California to make up for the loss.
