Trump probably saved documents linking the CIA to the JFK assassination. There's no way DOJ is going to let the jury read the documents. They would rather drop the charges.

Why would the CIA keep 80 year old documents detailing their involvement?
60 years. Because not everyone related to the assassination is dead yet. The CIA has to maintain a record to protect those who were involved from liablity and prosecution.

That's right. Documents and records must be kept: to prevent liability and prosecution, AND, more importantly, to prevent people from leaking information about the illegal assassination. This is why dozens of people, related to the assassination, have been murdered, or died under mysterious circumstances (Oswald, Kupcinet, Stockdale, Mary Sherman, Mary Meyer, Sarti, Johnny Roselli, etc., etc.) before they had an opportunity to provide testimony.
