Donald Trump’s domination of last week’s primaries made it official: He has successfully routed the GOP establishment.
Some would argue, with ample evidence, that this happened a long time ago. Particularly in Congress, the party is divided into three sometimes overlapping factions: Reaganites, pragmatists and populists, the last being Trump’s “MAGA” faction. Politicians from the first two groups have been retreating, retiring or reinventing themselves in Trump’s image for years now

Voters determine the Republican establishment. That is a threat to “our democracy”!
Not hardly. The Republican party is a corrupt organization just like the Democrats. When the Trump era is over, so will be my connection to these deceitful rats.
He has successfully routed the GOP establishment.
It was we the conservatives, betrayed by the establishment idiots that sent Trump after them. He’s the general we hired to do the job.
Indeed. Trump's raiding party is at the gates, but the deep-state walls are high and the Uniparty swamp creatures are prepared for a long siege
He was always a RINO. But a RINO was better than a Democrat, until we learned better. That a RINO is also a Democrat in reality.
Jonah should go join the Dybbuk Wire.
Complete bullcrap. Mike Johnson proves that the Country Club blue-blood GOP establishment still retains a stranglehold on the party.
Even the conservative caucus is persona non grata.
The bulk of the GOP still hate Trump’s guts and would rather see Biden re-elected.
And the democrats success at destroying this country shows that they aligned themselves with communists. That is also a movement.
Jonah has become Oppenheimer..
The Rank and File GOP members love Trump. Overwhelmingly. The Country Club Republicans hate him with a passion.
The GOPe learns how much America hates it.
In my experience, people who literally hate Democrats, and hate illegal border crossers, are the ones who most love Trump. The hate, the love, are all emotional experiences. People who are a little more rational, and see things in shades of grey, and understand we have problems that can’t all be solved with a sledgehammer, aren’t as enthusiastic about him.
The “mean tweets” is usually where you can usually separate the groups. Those that love Trump actually probably love his mean tweets more than anything, even if they don’t realize it. But they revel in the good ones, and will defend every last bad one no matter how outlandish they may be.
Others realize that a sharp pretentious tongue often causes more harm than it does good, and have historically equated nastiness with liberal thinking and behavior. But of course we all see things differently, these are just my personal observations.
My connection to the Repuglicrat Party ended in February 2020, after I saw the “conservative republicans” desert PRESIDENT TRUMP in droves, I am now an Independent.
“Mods pull if to controversial.”
If anyone can’t handle an article they disagree with, they should get less soft.
The distinction between Reaganites and Trump supporters (populists) is a false one.
We are one and the same!
Shut up Goldberg you’re embarrassing yourself.
Sorry to hear about your brother, but I wouldn’t doubt the phony vax had something to do with it, if not being the main factor. I myself have suffered two significant health conditions I believe are directly related, which are some of the reasons why my support for Trump is very shaky right now. I simply don’t trust anyone who put all of our lives in jeopardy like that, possibly just to line their pockets or rush it through just because there was an election coming up.
Alas, the other choice(s) for President are probably worse, so I will be voting for him, but I’m not expecting any big improvements on anything even if he gets in there. He mainly seems to be a big talker, and I truly believe almost all of his die hard supporters love him for his angry rhetoric more than anything, because most all of his promises actually fizzle out, and his personnel decisions and political endorsements are horrible. Maybe it would be better next time for him, but I’m just seeing the same rabble rousing going on, and no admission or accountability for his shutdowns, vax, debt explosion, etc, and have little faith he will drain the swamp any better than before, when he actually kept re-stocking it. Guess we’ll see, but it’s hard to be optimistic about someone that you believe literally put your life at risk.
