Republican strategist Karl Rove urged Democrats to “go hard” at former President Trump’s rhetoric surrounding the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, calling the former president’s pledge to free imprisoned rioters a “critical mistake.”
“If they were smart, they’d take the January 6 and go hard at it. And they would say, ‘He wants to pardon these people who attacked our Capitol,'” Rove said told MSNBC’s Ari Melber.
“One of the critical mistakes made in this campaign is that Donald Trump has now said ‘I’m going to pardon those people because they’re hostages,'” Rove said in the interview, which aired Wednesday. “No, they’re not, they’re thugs.”
Trump said last month that his first act if elected to the White House would be to free the imprisoned Jan. 6 rioters, whom he called “hostages.” The former president has expressed sympathy for those charged in connection with the insurrection on numerous occasions and spoke last year at a fundraiser organized for Jan 6. defendants.

You got that right. They could not bring themselves to fire the shooter. Their response to that shooting says a lot.
Does Rove , purposefully, go out of his was to prove what a POS he is?
I think we need to prosecute the Jan 6th FBI instigators.
Man, how Rove has fallen!
Pardoning people who assaulted police officers?
A prediction that President Trump will not do that.
Rove disagrees with it, which means he’s right.
The Jan 6th 'narrative' is so crucial to the last 3.5 years that it must be maintained, to the point of Rove helping Democrats get elected. Which is confirmation Rove, and by extension Bushies et al are Uniparty.
Side note: with Ronna gone, donations to the RNC are going back up.
“ If there was a maga citizen who was violent, name him/her and what they did that was violent!!!!!!”
Exactly.
Sorry, but your assessment that all violent instigators were all government agents is incorrect. Yes they were in the crowd, but don’t kid yourself for one second that everyone else in the crowd were just non violent folks. Majority were, but not remotely all.
Your belief that the crowd was simply two groups government agitators and peaceful MAGA folks is beyond naive. I agree there were government assets in the crowd, trying to stir up trouble, but there were also various groups who went to the capital, and did so by their own admission to be violent and cause trouble, that were NOT government assets.
Those that went there with the full intention of being violent and acted on those intentions, deserve and should be punished, and whether you want to believe it or not, there were indeed groups in the crowd that day who came purely to be violent and cause harm, and they were not all government assets. Those folks do NOT deserve a pardon, and deserve to be punished.
The folks who were not part of that group, and did not engage in violence or malfeasance that day, but simply entered through opened doors and wandered around the capital videotaping themselves, that are sitting in prison sells or facing serious crimes, those folks should indeed be pardoned.
However, if you drove 1000 miles, with a group of compadres, with plans to the capitol in your possession and a plan to breach it, and engaged in smashing windows and doors and forcibly entered the capital and did intentional damage and engaged in violence, then NO, you don’t get a pardon.
Don’t think for one second that everyone that showed up that day had to be simply peaceful maga people, or government assets, that is just not remotely true.
A critical mistake is listening to anything Karl Rove says.
Sometimes Trump needs to keep his mouth shut. Jan 6th, for example, if he wants to persuade people other than his base to vote for him.
The current demonrat apparatus is overflowing with crooked cash.
They'll(again)outspend their Republican rivals 2-1(or better).
Media(democrats)are only looking for Republican crooks...turn a blind-eye to their own.
