Gov. Kathy Hochul and New York State Attorney General Leticia James were denied requests to speak at the funeral for slain NYPD Officer Jonathan Diller, Fox News host and Massapequa resident Brian Kilmeade revealed Saturday, citing sources.
Hochul's one-time gubernatorial rival blasted their requests.
"How completely out of touch and disrespectful — it's about them when you make that kind of request. It really should be about the family," the former Republican Congressman told the outlet.
"They can have speak whoever they want to have speak. And if you aren't invited to provide remarks, then you don't try to push your way into it."
Hochul was confronted by members of Diller's family during her brief visit to Diller's wake Friday, with one telling her she had "blood on her hands."

Neither of those two could care less about the slain police officer OR his grieving family.
Their presence was nothing more than a thinly veiled dispicable attempt at compassion and a photo op.

I rarely cry but tears were streaming while watching the funeral. And when his widow spoke, I went through several tissues. One line that sticks out from her was something like they said things would change but they didn’t. My heart aches for her and her son.
The audacity of those people asking to speak. They are the reason Officer Diller is dead, and they will be the reason plenty more will die at the hands of repeat offenders. Hochul closed 5 NY State prison in 2021. She’s closing 5 more this year.
