Reagan, starring Dennis Quaid as the 40th U.S. president, is officially coming to cinemas.
The movie has set an August 30 opening under a partnership with new distributor Showbiz Direct, according to a Deadline report. Showbiz Direct is headed by Kevin Mitchell as well as former Lionsgate distribution president Richie Fay and the former co-president of distributor Open Road, Scott Kennedy.
Reagan will be the first big-screen movie to dramatize the life of Ronald Reagan and is expected to cover its subject’s entire life — from his beginnings in Illinois, to his career as a Hollywood actor, and ultimately his rise in politics.

Thats a qualifying statement. lol
If Jon Voigt is in it it probably isn’t a hit piece.
Hope it isn’t “Holly-wood-ized” - i.e., blaming Reagan for AI
DS, setting back “gay rights,” implying his “itchy trigger finger on the nuclear button” almost got us into WW III - along with calling him a dumb racist - are all fodder for modern Hollywood.
I’ll wait for the reviews to come out to see which direction it leans...
In B4 the Putin fanbois here on FR accuse Reagan of being a Globalist Neocon Warmonger, because he saw a strong NATO as necessary to counter the Russian menace ...
Dennis Quaid and Jon Voight both lean to the Right, so this SHOULD be a solid effort.
“There you go again”
Jon Voight is in it, good. So it won’t be a fictionalized account by the usual Hollywood Marxists who are still furious at Reagan today for bringing down their beloved Soviet Union.
Reagan was the first Presidential candidate I voted for back in 1980 and I remember quite clearly they gave him crap just like they are giving Trump today, although on a lesser scale. “He’s a B movie actor” I must have heard a billion times.
The media was quite different back then, it wasn’t ultra left domestic enemy Marxist like it is today with lesbians and gay boys reading the news. For example when Iran took the hostages, the main stream news media on TV held a countdown - “Day 349 of the hostage crisis”. Today that would never happen. How long have Americans been stuck in Afghanistan or the Jan.6th political prisoners? They are not even acknowleged, like they don’t even exist.
I believe there’s another conservative actor in this movie too, Robert Davi.
Well, as far as I know, Jon Voight is one of the Good Guys, so this might be OK.
Randy Quaid would be more fun.
Randy played LBJ. He didn’t have to veer off too far from his role as Cousin Eddie.
Dennis Quaid used to be a liberal, but he’s been slowly red pilled over the years.
That said, I'll wait to watch it when a) it hits streaming and b) after I read the reviews on FR.
Robert Deniro and Jane Fonda wouldn’t cut it.
There you go again.
I’ll torrent this in when I find the torrent.
Hollywood gets none of my money.
It is based on a book by Paul Kengor, who wrote several.

Dennis and not Randy?
Who’s gonna play the parts of the evil Neocons who took control of Reagan’s agenda and nosedived it into Iran-Contra?
