American officials have repeatedly said they are worried about Israel's plans to launch a major ground offensive in Rafah, where about half of Gaza's 2.3 million population has found refuge.
The UN Security Council voted Monday morning on a resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza during the month of Ramadan, as well as the immediate release of all hostages.
With Ramadan ending next month, it means the ceasefire would last for just two weeks.
'If the US does not veto a resolution for a cease-fire that is not conditional on the release of hostages - I will cancel the delegation's departure to Washington,' said Netanyahu earlier, according to Ynet News.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday announced that he is canceling the planned visit of a delegation to Washington after the United States refused to veto a U.N. Security Council resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.
Minutes before the resolution was carried by 14 votes to zero, Netanyahu told Israeli news media that the visit would not happen if Washington failed to veto it.
'In light of the change in the American position, Prime Minister Netanyahu decided the delegation would not leave,' his office said after the vote, calling the decision a 'clear retreat' from its previous stance.
The impasse is the latest twist in diplomatic efforts to ease the suffering of Palestinian civilians caught up in fighting and to secure the release of hostages held by Hamas.
And it highlights how the relationship between the U.S. is breaking down amid the bloodshed in Gaza.

I’m outside of Philly, so I don’t know if location matters.
The perspective is of a “they own the banks” and the correlations from that.
Usury, nepotism, “keeping us down”, etc.
As young people don’t have hope for the future they will look for blame in the present.
I recommend The True Believer by Hoffer for insight into movements.
Good book, autodidact author…
Bibi should also kick out a bunch of US "diplomats", as well.
fafo
The defense of the Suez should be by those who gain from it.
Israel, Egypt, and others.
If we don’t fix our domestic issues very soon, there won’t be an America to protect anyone.
We truly have lost our way.
I was a dedicated Airman with a positive mindset. I don’t know what the hell we’re doing anymore.
Yup.
The future positioning of this Regime and its elites vs Israel/Jews can be seen in what is going on in the elite universities right now.
The elite universities is where it comes from (”The Cathedral”).
One interesting consequence of the aftermath of Oct 7 is shattering of the taboo of criticism of a particular group.
One of the ways that White identity and self-protection has always been suppressed is to argue that we can’t do that because it leads to moustache-man and mass murder.
I think we now have more space to argue for protection of Whites as a group, and our countries. The “Shadow” of WW2 atrocities has lost its power to contain us.
Biden needs Michigan. Last week he went there made no speech or public appearance and stood with peeople on their porch saying nothing.
The muslim capital of the US is Dearbornistan, MI
During Ramadan 2022, Palestinian terrorists dramatically increased their attacks, including approximately 49 shooting, stabbing, bombing and other violent attacks. Palestinian terrorists in Gaza and Lebanon also fired a series of rockets toward Israel during this period.
Inshallah
They way I look at it, the way West deals with everything now is only decided on the internal struggle for power. Nothing else matters.
So the borders of every Western country are wide open, but the elites of the West are seized by the idea of “aggression” in the Donbass. They are determined to keep the Suez Canal open, when there a large areas of many cities in the West which are “no go zones” for the police.
It’s insane in terms of any rational national interest.
But it works in terms of a power struggle between Progressive Elites, and the traditonal and Heritage populations of their countries.
I’m all for that. If everyone else can have an ethnostate, so can whites.
I’ve said I would move to Europe if they all weren’t committing suicide.
I have no dreams of world domination, I just want to not deal with certain people.
The Jewish population in Michigan is actually higher than moslem.
I guess Biden is betting they will vote for him regardless. Which on past form seems likely.
Another lesson for the Right, here.
Moslems are willing to take an election loss in order to punish politicians who won’t do what they want. As a result, they get a huge effort to be accomodated.
The Right is like the Jews of Michigan. We vote for the CINOs and RINOs regardless, and they always betray us. But we keep voting for them.
Agreed.
i believe we’ve only encountered one young man who was antisemitic and in his case it was part of his overall insanity mental problems encompassing many additional irrational elements
it has always seemed strange, to put it mildly, to encounter black antisemitism when it’s been largely people from the Jewish community that have “stuck their necks out” to help black people, end housing discrimination, etc.
it appears that there’s been a shocking lack of education going on in some quarters, about what’s really happened and who did what
Why should Ramadan take precedence over Western Christian Holy Week, Passover, and Orthodox Christian Holy Week?
What makes the Moose-limbs so special?
You forgot a few things. That vindictive, perverted, dumb, criminal little bastard in the White House.
Yup, and I was real "cold warrior" for 11 years Navy with Soviet subs and surface ships trailing us constantly, just itching to send us to the bottom. Unfortunately, I can see what's going on. We have no realistic military nor political leadership and are now seen as weak.
Good for him.
Leave the U.S. on the outside for a while.
Trump will revive the relationship.
Good for Netanyahu.............did obama leave him sitting for a long time - and something about the back door. Democrats are not good friends to Israel anymore it seems. Just my opinion
Netanyahu came to the Obama White House. They had a short meeting. Then Obama left, saying, "I am eating dinner. I will be back." Then they met some more.
When this charade was over, Netanyahu was ushered out the back door. Past piles of trash in big black bags. I remember that photo. Obama loved the Iranians and tried to screw Israel in his own faggy passive-aggressive way. Obama could not really pound Israel due to large Jewish donors to him and the Dems.
