Netanyahu CANCELS Israeli diplomatic trip to Washington after the US refuses to veto United Nations resolution calling for Gaza ceasefire over Ramadan

American officials have repeatedly said they are worried about Israel's plans to launch a major ground offensive in Rafah, where about half of Gaza's 2.3 million population has found refuge.

The UN Security Council voted Monday morning on a resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza during the month of Ramadan, as well as the immediate release of all hostages.

With Ramadan ending next month, it means the ceasefire would last for just two weeks.

'If the US does not veto a resolution for a cease-fire that is not conditional on the release of hostages - I will cancel the delegation's departure to Washington,' said Netanyahu earlier, according to Ynet News.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday announced that he is canceling the planned visit of a delegation to Washington after the United States refused to veto a U.N. Security Council resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Minutes before the resolution was carried by 14 votes to zero, Netanyahu told Israeli news media that the visit would not happen if Washington failed to veto it.

'In light of the change in the American position, Prime Minister Netanyahu decided the delegation would not leave,' his office said after the vote, calling the decision a 'clear retreat' from its previous stance.

The impasse is the latest twist in diplomatic efforts to ease the suffering of Palestinian civilians caught up in fighting and to secure the release of hostages held by Hamas.

And it highlights how the relationship between the U.S. is breaking down amid the bloodshed in Gaza.

Memo to Hamas: If you don’t want to fight a war during Ramadan, don’t start one.

Biden provided Israel with $14 billion.
Biden provided Israel with JDAMs.
Biden provided Israel with 2 carrier groups in the region.

This is kabuki theater.

He needs to tell DC that he is busy fighting an existential war, no time for tourism.

He also needs to take Rafah before Passover. One month.

That’s true.

Ignore what they say. Watch what they do.

But it is the case that Pro-Palestinian leftists have taken over the Democrat activists. They are the future.

So Israel needs to get sulf sufficiency, since they will not be getting large amounts of free stuff in the future.

the only good thing from the Biden regime is that it has tarnished and probably terminated the future of the D party forever

millions of D’s now will vote for Kennedy and Trump or just about anyone before they vote for Biden/IneligibleHarris or any similar communist puppets

the veil is off
the Biden regime has come out of the commie/Nazi closet so that everybody can see what it actually represents

Ceasefire?

The United States has been fighting in Iraq for over twenty years. We still have about 2,500 soldiers there engaging in**cough, cough** “defensive” operations.

We have been bombing Syria since 2014. Back in 2016, under Obama, we sent a dozen special forces to Syria. Under the next president, the number of troops fighting in Syria increased to about 2,500. We are still occupying and fighting in Syria.

The United States has the audacity to demand that Israel cease fighting. Arrogance, hubris, hypocrisy.

Gaza ceasefire over Ramadan, while Hamas specifically attacked on Yom Kippur.

Sounds fair. [/s]

Agreed. They should have been working on that for 75 years.

Demographically speaking, the place chosen couldn’t be worse.
Their choice though.

Your faith is terribly misguided.
Demographics is destiny.
I don’t think you know many young people, especially in population centers.
The term antisemitism carries no weight.

They have done some things, like their own tanks. And they have their own oil and gas supply, which they didn’t have in 1973.

Depending on a declining US is a fool’s errant anyway. It and its “allies” cannot even keep the Suez Canal open against a terrorist group.

Our experience may vary,
what we find among younger folks is a generalized self-concern without much interest in anything or anybody outside of that little circle
but
no antisemitism
no hatred of people they don’t know in their own little circles

now I believe that this is a bad sign for their personal futures and for the country’s
But we’ve observed no anti-Christian or anti-Jewish bias outside of the Islamicist “immigration” or campus communist arenas

and in them, yes they’re mentally malignant and imho very dangerous to USA

if you’re meeting many young people who are actually antisemites that would be very disturbing, indeed, and I do believe that the synagogues and churches should ramp up the educational effort
