Fulton County Speaks Out Over Fani Willis Payments to Nathan Wade
Newsweek ^ | Mar 11, 2024 at 3:16 PM EDT | Sean O'Driscoll

[...]

Confiscated property held by the Fulton County DA's office includes, for example, $150,000 in cash and $1 million worth of jewelry seized from the rapper Young Thug when he was arrested in May 2022 on organized crime charges. Paying lawyers from the forfeited property account would be inappropriate for any district attorney's office.

In admitting the clerical error, the spokesman included an email from Willis's chief operation officer, who noted that the expenses document prepared by the Fulton County government "incorrectly states that Invoices 9, 10 and 11 were paid out of a forfeiture account."

The chief operating officer attached three memos for the payments, which he said showed that they were pulled from the general account rather than the confiscated property fund.

Would this expense account document be recently created and backdated to serve political and legal purposes? Asking for a friend....

I have problem with this because: They grab your property, and don’t let you pay for a lawyer. They could do that to anybody.

Robbed a bank, just put the money back, no problem.

Could be that Fani Willis is willing to take money from both black & white people, if they have it.

Crooked politicians have no moral compass. That trial is still ongoing, and is now in it's 2nd year. In my book, his money can not be used to pay anything until a conviction is achieved.

I personally know nothing about the case, other than the premise is that he started a a Rap career to hide his street life crime syndicate. He may have, but I also see what a criminal Fani is too. She even lied in court about her relationship with the lawyer prosecuting Trump, which we all know is total BS.

Altering/forging official records would be a crime if a non-Democrat did it.

Sort of like the World Com fraud.
Invent a debit and invent a credit, both of which benefit the company. Then label it “correction of clerical error”
Good move/ /s

Sounds like Fanni is in a Catch 22 moment.

If she paid for Wade’s invoices out of the Trust Fund (forfeiture), she is screwed for an illegal disbursement. If she used general fund money, the county is going to go after her for not getting authorization for the expense.

Seems like violating county policy is the lesser of two evils here and she’s playing CYA.

So the county-proper goes back and alters invoice payment accounting..... they’re all a bunch of damn crooks.

The big question of the day is, “who in Fulton County Government isn’t a crook?”

Distraction. It was how he invoiced (block billing with no proof or explanation) that was the problem. He stole money pure and simple. 24 hours in one day. 60 hours in a week, with no explanation, etc...

No actual proof he met with anyone, drafted anything, just blocked billed. No accounting for his time. They also gave the lawyers in his firm $75,000 each to basically do nothing.
