Sen. Katie Britt's, R-Ala., official Republican response to President Joe Biden's State of the Union address Thursday night turned heads — but not for any of the right reasons.
The freshman senator's high-profile rebuttal was stern in its focus on immigration and the state of the economy — two key sticking points against the president — but had a bizarre delivery, according to The Daily Beast. Its dramatic cadence and beige-toned kitchen backdrop left political operatives and observers unsure of what to make of it.
Britt's performance was so unnerving that some Republicans watched "with a grimace," the Daily Beast reports. A GOP strategist even told the outlet that gossip about Britt's delivery quickly circulated among operatives connected to Donald Trump, which could have an impact on her consideration as his running mate.

Joe Biden was a senator 10 years before she was even born and he was ranting and raving all night like an unhinged protester off the street.
She’s actually quite HOT! That alone conveyed the right message.😎
I want both substance and style.
C’mon man—out of the millions of people in this country it is not a ridiculous request that the very few who represent us meet that standard.
What you call ‘style’ happens to mean a lot when one is attempting to influence others. Britt wasn’t talking to or attempting to persuade all of us Freepers who are already decided.
With the ranting and raving, Biden would sound like uncle Addy if delivered in German.
Her delivery at the beginning was a bit shaky which can be somewhat normal for her. She is 42 and getting thrust in the limelight big time.
I didn’t support her in the primary because of her voice I must admit but have since gained to appreciate more of an appreciation for her.
As it went on she did better and better. Good speech overall. But I can see how people might not like her sorority girl voice as some politicians’ voices can be somewhat annoying.
Mrs. Britt did an excellent job. I think she has a bright future in Congress or anywhere else she choose to go. I am proud to have her on the team!!!
“She’s actually quite HOT! That alone conveyed the right message.”
Not necessarily the right message to suburban women, who can have animosity to women more HOT than they are. Same goes for those men who are insanely jealous of Trump and his successes.
🚨 SOUND ON!! CEO Douglas Macgregor, the REAL state of the union!
"The bottom line is the state of the union is not strong. In fact, it is fragile and deteriorating.
The question before us is, "Where does America go from here?" Consider the following actions to be taken as soon as possible.pic.twitter.com/Qcz8uwEXna— Our Country Our Choice (@OCOCReport) March 8, 2024
Katie Britt is a protégé of Mitch McConnell, so everybody now knows the point and direction of that delivery.
People are sick of girlymen GOP guys like the speaker, and they are also sick of whining PITA females like the Senator who did the rebuttal.
Can they just put up normals who take Biden to task for his lies and treason?
I wonder if we are paying for this dumbass’ diploma. Probably so.
😉
It was horrible. Really really bad delivery and she looked like a wimp among women. Not a strong bone in her body. I’m glad we saw it so she won’t be vice president.
Maybe, but I’m to fricken old to give a rip about some group’s tender sensitivities. F’them.

Brietbart agrees, and brings receipts.
Creepy. Stepford stuff. And why put her in the friken kitchen?!?
Career Limiting Move.
Agree.

Roger Stone comment was at the end—smart guy with decades of experience in politics—when he says it was a fail it was a fail.
I hope she works on her voice and delivery. While the content of her comments was great, she sounded like an elementary school teacher speaking to her class. Maybe it was just nerves under the spotlight, but at times I thought she was going to start crying.
