"One of our biggest disasters ever": Republicans "*bleep*ing losing it" over Katie Britt SOTU response
Salon via Yahoo ^ | March 8th, 2024 | Tatyana Tandanpolie

Sen. Katie Britt's, R-Ala., official Republican response to President Joe Biden's State of the Union address Thursday night turned heads — but not for any of the right reasons.

The freshman senator's high-profile rebuttal was stern in its focus on immigration and the state of the economy — two key sticking points against the president — but had a bizarre delivery, according to The Daily Beast. Its dramatic cadence and beige-toned kitchen backdrop left political operatives and observers unsure of what to make of it.

Britt's performance was so unnerving that some Republicans watched "with a grimace," the Daily Beast reports. A GOP strategist even told the outlet that gossip about Britt's delivery quickly circulated among operatives connected to Donald Trump, which could have an impact on her consideration as his running mate.

Perhaps she went to the Christopher Walken school of speech and enunciation.

no wonder so many call republicans judgemental. if behar wasn’t being sarcastic(she probably was), she did do a good job of talking to Patriotic moms about the dangers to these United States of America from the biden administration and what a reelection of this menace would bring to the future generation being raised today. not perfect but no rebuttal is. my larger problem is the circular firing squad that republicans without fail engage in EVERY SINGLE ELECTION CYCLE! as a dedicated, “More conservative than attila the hun” husband, father, provider and on the TRUMP TRAIN long before he decided to engage in the bloodsport of politics, I believe she connected with American woman voters sitting on the fence far better than the GOP “smooth talkers” that the party leaders would have preferred.

She was robotic in her tone.

Just watch the 1975 version of The Stepford Wives and you will get it.

Good public speakers (Reagan, JFK were the best) are relaxed and natural in their delivery.

President Trump presents true passion in his delivery.

She had neither.

She needs to speak in her voice, whatever that is.

We did not see that real voice last night.

Do not confuse content with delivery—they are totally separate.

They can run focus groups and you may be correct.

The numbers will tell the story.

Don’t forget Bobby Jindal’s rebuttal. It was dumpster fire.

A strong determined SOTU response was desperately needed.

Instead, we got Senator Barbie.

The Republican Party SOU Response Was Intentionally Cringeworthy

March 7, 2024 | Sundance

They did it again.   Joe Biden shouts gibberish for over an hour, muttering and shouting incoherent words during the State of the Union.  All that was needed in rebuttal was normalcy.  But no, Mitch McConnell and Mike Johnson had to deliver a “dramatic acting” rebuttal that was even more cringeworthy than Biden’s shouting.

Remember when Casey DeSantis was campaigning in the Melania heels, duck dynasty capris and grizzly mom T-shirt?

This is the SOU rebuttal equivalent. It’s horrible.  WATCH:

BREAKING NEWS: Katie Britt Tears Into Biden In Republican Response To The State Of The Union

I’m so done with the professionally Republican apparatus.

This is super cringe.

The GOPe do this crap on purpose.

Speaker Mike Johnson
@SpeakerJohnson

I am pleased to announce with @LeaderMcConnell that @SenKatieBritt
will be delivering the Republican response to the State of the Union address.
The American people will tune in as the youngest Republican woman ever
elected to the Senate turns the page on the oldest President in history.

The criticism is an opportunity to improve.

Maybe for Britt, but right now it is intended to scare Republican leadership into doing foolish things in over-reaction.

The LAAP-dog media narrative is that Biden knocked it out of the park and Republicans fell flat on their face. Salon and Daily Beast are doing their part to feed that narrative to try to make the Republicans second-guess their support of the Trump campaign.

The truth is that Biden gave the DNC convention speech that he might not get to give, and it is turning off people in its rancor and partisanship. I think the best play is for Republicans to ignore the ankle-biting and move forward with taking control of the RNC and finally focusing on building their GOTV infrastructure that McDaniel repeatedly failed to do.

Last night shows why there’s no way they’ll let Biden near a debate stage with Trump. Trump would poke him and over the hour and a half Biden would eventually blow a gasket.

I loved the content of Katie's speech, seems you are more interested in an AOC delivery. I guess you like political sluts.

"Do not confuse content with delivery—they are totally separate."

The great Rush Limbaugh used to say, "People won't remember what you say, but they will remember how you made them feel."

I suppose Rush is laughing at the irony that I remember him saying that :)

Bingo, that was her audience. I didn’t really like the delivery as it was too emotional and like the USPCA ads, but then realized I was not the audience. The Tech people didn’t do her any favors either with having her mic too far away which increased the softness of her voice. But, her words were right on.
