Another comment—I used to be on the debating team in high school and college.

Most candidates—even with all the prep they get—are not very good at it.

A decent college debater could outpoint any of them any day of the week.

That’s right, Bidon needs to get out and talk to the people, like Trump does. Get real public! Put him out there!

Btw, when is Bidon’s next big televised election rally?

Agreed. And difficult to stay on task when the moderator is arguing with you.

Another area people get off message is in job interviews. They ramble. Few are the candidates who practice economy in their responses.

I tend to agree with you. Even with biased moderators and ear buds, Biden would come out looking bad. He looks bad just showing up. That Super Bowl commercial of his probably took 100 takes to shoot. The heavy editing was so obvious. His campaign should be embarrassed.

You’re not listening
The ploy is not to allow Trump any platform to spread his “lies”. They won’t cover his campaign speeches, why would anyone think they’d give Trump a second of their precious broadcast time?

How many public election campaign rallies has Bidon held?

Debates operate at two levels.

You are describing level 2—the details.

Level 1 is the most important. That is the setting, the tone, the animal magnetism of the candidates, the intangibles that are body language and not words.

The most famous example of that was the Nixon Kennedy debates of 1960.

Everyone who saw the debates on TV was convinced Kennedy won.

Everyone who heard the debates only on radio was convinced Nixon won.

TV/video is a level one debate.

Radio is a level two debate.

On TV you can be saying all kinds of wrong stuff but if you do with extreme confidence and positive body language you are winning.

On radio the details matter—they better make sense.

Re: 39 - watch the first two debates with Biden in 2020 and you tell me.

Debating is tough to do, more so when moderators lose control of the debate or start to get involved in the debate itself.

Job interview is another great example.

The candidate should know exactly what impression they are trying to make and how they plan to do it.

If they lose control of the meeting they are in trouble.

Yes, there were some questions regarding Biden getting assists that were not accorded to President Trump.

Trump’s reply should be

We need to change the moral climate first and starts with ot a pedophile who showers with his teenage daughter

Saving democracy we need a president that doesn’t take bribes from foreign governments. And we need secure elections not fraud fest.

We need a president that dismantles the weaponized intelligence agencies not deploy them against Americans

The war in Ukraine we need a president who doesn’t use that nation as an ATM

Have you seen television ratings lately?

Their “precious time” is an artifact of previous decades.

The Debates can be run by the Corrupt DNC, or their Subsidiary, the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD).

Thanks for saying that bluntly. Should also mention that the RNC has been useless in demanding neutral moderators, not DNC apparatchiks posing as media journalists.

Re: 48 - I always thought President Reagan shined via the radio. A true master.

He was very good in his TV debates with Pat Brown and Jimmy Carter.

Still good on TV with Mondale in ‘84 but he started to look tired.

His radio commentaries in the mid to late 70’s were outstanding and all written by him. Thank you to Kiron Skinner and others for getting those out to the public.

Speaking of “precious broadcast time”—Nikki Haley had a zillion hours of it.

Every talk show on every network had her on constantly.

It did nothing for her.

Why?

1. The ratings really do suck. Not that many people watch the shows.
2. She was a challenger and true challengers have to play by different rules. It took her forever just to get name recognition. In that mode you try to stay positive. However DeSantis, V and others saw her as a threat and started running adds and other attacks on her. That put her on defense right out of the blocks. In one debate she got very angry at V—lost control of the situation.
3. By the time she finally found her message (anti Trump hate once everybody else had dropped out) she was stuck with it—she had no positive message at all—at least not one that anyone heard—all the headlines were anti-Trump hate.
4. That angered the Republican grass roots for obvious reasons—and she was done. All the TV time in the world and $100 million of advertising could not save her.

Bottom line: The message is the most critical. President Trump is well known and everybody has an opinion about him. All he needs to do is stay on message. He does not need standard TV talk shows or debates—and they probably are a net negative to the extent they distract him and get him off message.

Reagan was the master of both mediums.

JFK was the master of TV.

I can’t remember anybody else who was even moderately skilled other than those two.

It’s too bad President Trump doesn’t do commentaries via podcast.

He can reach millions via Apple Podcast, Spotify, etc.

3-5 minutes max, 2-3/week.

Completely bypass the MSM. His message, tightly focused without the MSM filter.

He doesn’t have the ideal voice for that.

But there’s demographics he would reach that way that simply don’t watch TV.
