Anti-Israel College Students Label Themselves ‘Militants’, Say ‘Armed Struggle’ Is The Way To ‘Liberate Palestine’

Mount Holyoke College’s anti-Israel student group posted various pro-violence graphics to social media, referring to themselves as militants and stating that “armed struggle” is the only way to “liberate Palestine.”

Last week, the 1837SJP club at the Massachusetts college posted a graphic with five points to its Instagram, one of which called for the destruction of Israel by stating that “Palestine” must be Arab and that “armed struggle is the only way to liberate Palestine.”

The Mount Holyoke SJP group posted a graphic claiming “armed struggle is the only way to liberate Palestine.”

The group claims to be the official Students for Justice in Palestine chapter at Mount Holyoke on its social media page. The group, which uses “1837” in its name to refer to the year the college was founded, is not a registered student organization, according to the student paper.

Schools around the country have been embroiled in controversy over their handling of anti-Israel demonstrations and many documented anti-Semitic incidents since the October 7 Hamas massacre of Israeli citizens. The students at Mount Holyoke, like radical student groups at other American universities, appear to be embracing terrorism against Jews.

In a January post, the Mount Holyoke group called itself a “militant community 4 good.” It also advocated for students to let them know if they are “down for arrest” and encouraged students to “not be a cop” with the text “oink,” referring to police officers as pigs. The group has referred to the U.S.-designated terror group Hamas as “Palestinian resistance brigades.”

The anti-Israel student group at Mount Holyoke called themselves a “militant community 4 good” in a graphic on their Instagram.

On Christmas, the group shared a graphic of a masked man with the text “May Israel fall Inshallah.”

The club also called for the college to sever ties with Costa Coffee, Coca-Cola, and study abroad programs in Israel and demanded the school to provide “support services” for Palestinian and Arab students that are facilitated by Palestinians and Arabs, according to a November letter.

Since Hamas’s brutal attack, the campus has faced a few incidents regarding anti-Semitism and anti-Israel activism. This includes the school launching an investigation after an alumni found a poster of a Star of David being thrown in the trash and a chalkboard with “Zionists are not welcome here” and “From the river to the sea Palestine will be free” written on it.

“When made aware, the College responded immediately, and the chalking that violated College policy was removed,” the college president, Danielle R. Holley said in a statement adding they could not find the posters. “Public Safety and Service began an investigation right away,” Holley added. “With investigations of this sort, we are constrained in what and when we can communicate.”

In November, the group led a sit-in at a building with the office of the college’s president overnight leading to two of its members having a disciplinary meeting for scaling scaffolding to bring food to protestors.

Shortly after, the group posted that the college met some of their demands, including establishing the support services and hosting a College-organized “vigil for the martyrs.” The group hosted their own “vigil for the martyrs” just weeks before.

On Wednesday, the group hosted University of Michigan assistant professor Umayyah Cable, who called Hamas’s attack on Israel “Palestinian’s liberation” two days after the attack.

On October 13, Cable berated her colleagues for not signing onto an open-letter accusing Israel of genocide.

“I need every UM faculty member handwringing over this statement to know that A) screenshots of your nasty emails & mental gymnastic screeds travel far & wide, & B) your Palestinian colleagues & students will never forget this moment when you chose to stay “neutral” on genocide,” Cable tweeted.

In November, more than 78 Mount Holyoke faculty members signed a letter that accused Israel of genocide and urged the school to divest from companies that “support the Israeli military.”

Mount Holyoke and student leaders of the SJP group did not respond to a request for comment.

The Left has gone totally anti-Israel. Previously they were ok with a 2 state solution but now consider Israel a white colonizer entity that must be eliminated. Should be interesting to see what happens to pro Israel democrats like Chuckie Schumer going forward.

What we have seen on campuses around the country is that these Pali sympathizers act out by intimidating and name calling Jewish students.

It is nasty stuff—raw evil.

I would wager that there are two maybe three people behind this, and they may not even be students. Eff ‘em.

Do these morons realize that their position justifies Netanyahu’s policy of minimizing the ability of the Palestinians to engage in armed struggle?
