Stossel interviews Murray on his major books such as Losing Ground and The Bell Curve. And, social and economic trends up to those books AND SINCE.
It turns out the guy has been spot on the future course of our country. We have been living his predictions.
Murray's keen insight is that the great majority of people find happiness and fulfillment in their work and their family. The welfare state takes these away from the lower part of the income distribution, initially the poor, then the working class, and now the middle class.
As consequences, we see the rise of single-parent households, children raised without fathers, and men without jobs or families. Also, crime, especially since the end of mass incarceration. In short, life has become hell for many.
My quote concerns his prediction of the rise of a white underclass. But, it's a bit different than Murray envisioned thirty years ago. This white underclass is angry and politically engaged. And, it's more than just white men. It's Hispanics and increasing numbers of black men. And, it's worldwide. It's the right-populists of practically every democratic country. It's Xavier Millie of Argentina and Giorgia Meloni of Italy and many others.
Another consequence is the increasing hatred of the working class and the middle class by the elites. This hate is palpable. It includes incarceration of political opponents, censorship by social media, and lawfare. We are in an epic struggle for the soul of our country.

This is not a rocket ship crashing it’s more like the slowest train wreck in the history of earth.
Trump’s accomplishment is creating contrast in a picture that is largely unchanged over quite some time.
Everything indicates the climactic ending is near. From raiding the treasury to the tyranny. This is maniacal behavior that is highly characteristic of a peak.
They’re hanging on by their fingernails to the slimmest of power despite being backed by 90% of industry/institution/billionaires. They’re so desperate having run out of useful idiot Americans to pander towards that that they feel a need to import millions of voters from elsewhere.

Creativity, imagination and curiosity plus money to pursue these things result in subsequent intelligence.
Conformity and uniformity inhibit all forms of subsequent intelligence.
The uniformity is our friend crowd should be in the left tail yet somehow as measured by the leftists are found in the middle. Leftist social science has largely created insane institutional monsters from endless spending to castrating 8yos but when it comes to endorsing all men are not created equal and some need govt help it’s suddenly rational and promoted by imbeciles explicitly and implicitly on both sides.

LOL, it did similar to me when I asked Google if a church at a certain address had a membership predominately black, white, or mixed. AI refused to answer because the question was ‘racist’.
I use various bots (including Google Gemini) for creating VBA code for use in Excel because I carefully test it before plugging it into my spreadsheets.
As you know, Google stock has been getting hammered because of its racist programmers (anti-white).
Tell it that you are black or a minority and see how it reacts. I called it racist the other day and it almost blew a gasket.;-)
I am often reminded about the remarkable story from Ben Carson’s childhood that relates to this. His young, single mother was illiterate and uneducated, but she was not stupid. She struggled to support the family by working as a domestic helper for wealthy people in the area where they lived. One of the things she noticed among these wealthy families while working in their homes was that she never saw them watching television. She knew this was not a coincidence, and with her own kids struggling in school she decided to get rid of the TV in their home. The rest, as they say, is history.

You know why it’s good to be White? If someone points out that Asians are on average higher IQ than Whites…YOU DONT CARE! You say “Hmmm interesting” and you never think of it again.

Mr. Murray may have an insight that I have not yet gleaned, but I believe Trump wants to drain the swamp and reduce government.
Like it or not, 1789, here we come. Our erstwhile masters are murderously insane. They cannot be reasoned with nor bargained with.
