On Thursday, Feb. 22, just hours after Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman signed his executive order, Attorney General Letitia James announced that her office would look into the next steps to protect transgender athletes from the ban, which she called “dangerous.”
“This executive order is transphobic,” she said in a statement.
“In New York, we have laws that protect our beautifully diverse communities from hate and discrimination of any and every kind...We are reviewing our legal options.”
The executive order, effective immediately, prohibits transgender women from participating in female competitive sports at county-run facilities. The ban does not apply to co-ed sports or male sports.
“It’s a situation of fairness…it is an unfair advantage for someone who is a biological male to compete against a biological female," Blakeman said at a press conference announcing the order. He likened the participation of transgender women in women’s sports to “bullying.”
At the order’s announcement, Blakeman was joined by District 18 Legislator Samantha Goetz and Kim Russell, a former women's lacrosse coach at Ohio's Oberlin College who said she was terminated after speaking out against transgender athletes participating in women's sports.
New York LGBT Network President Dr. David Kilmnick similarly denounced the move, saying in a statement that it “not only undermines the principles of inclusivity and fairness but also perpetuates harmful stereotypes and exclusion.”
This continues to be a developing story.

Ban trans. Period. Put their crazy selves away. Keep them away from children. Punish those who support the insanity.
So it does seem that a social contagion can make people insane.
Now you see how the witch hunts went nuts throughout the Western world a few centuries ago.
James is in favor of men physically assaulting women. Where did Me too go?

I hope Nassau County starts a trend by dropping its scholastic sports programs entirely.
Let athletes and their parents organize their own leagues and establish their own rules for who gets to compete. That's supposed to be the American way to get things done, isn't it?

Good luck with that. Any steps you take will violate Title IX and then you’re on the hook for even more civil rights violations than you have already racked up.

Interesting point. I have often thought that humanity is a mix of the individualist and the social. Human beings have to live with both, in general.
Perhaps this “insanity”, which as you say recurs, is a culling of the overly social.
What I really don’t get, is who said “no, really, you have to let them play if they say they are female”, and who went along with that nonsense?
Why don’t we just do it this way??? Anyone who wants to be on a team, any team, any sport, is placed on the team of their choosing...They are each given a full scholarship, room and board, all meals free, and no grade lower than a “C” in every class they choose to take...

There is no state of human sexuality that may be correctly termed “transgender” Either the cells of the body of an individual are with the chromosome pair “XX”, FEMALE or “XY”, MALE. No known feat of genetic manipulation may ever, and perhaps never shall, change even ONE body cell chromosome configuration from “XX” to “XY”, or its reverse, “XY” to “XX”.
The only “transformation” possible is from male to neuter, or female to neuter. Anything less than actual neutering is merely cosplay, transvestitism. “Dressing up” in no way, shape, form or manner, changes the biological blueprint of the individual.
And if “transgender” is an impossibility, than “transphobia” is a wholly imaginary concept, with no basis in either definition or the law.
But then, Letitia James has an awful lot of imaginary concepts when it comes to the law. There should be a legal definition of “Female” and “Male” written into law.
Oh, yeah. Check the Book of Leviticus in the Old Testament.
Whomever Soros funds is dangerous. She is just the most visible right now.
