Donald Trump says he's considering RON DESANTIS, Vivek Ramaswamy, Kristi Noem and former Democrat Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard as potential VP picks

Former President Donald Trump has confirmed that six Republicans are on his shortlist for a potential running mate and vice president at a town hall on Monday.

In his first hint at who could be his Vice President if he wins the election in November, Trump's list included two former opponents and an ex-Democrat.

Trump, 77, confirmed Florida Governor and one-time foil Ron DeSantis, businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, and Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina are all among the ex-rivals being considered.

South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, Florida Republican Byron Donalds, and former Democrat Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard are on his shortlist.

A DailyMail.com poll in New Hampshire found Ramasmway is the top choice to be running mate, followed by Scott in second and Tucker Carlson and Ben Carson in joint third.

'All of those people are good. They're all solid,' Trump told Laura Ingraham Monday night.

Trump said, however, that deciding on a running mate might not be the biggest decision of his campaign.

'The one thing that always surprises me is that the VP choice always has no impact,' he said.

Trump noted that 2008 Republican VP nominee Sarah Palin did have an enormous impact, but faced attacks unlike anyone ever had before.

He then attempted to make his case for what qualities he felt his running mate should bring to the ticket.

'It's a very important position. You would like to get somebody who could help you from the voters' standpoint,' Trump said - but noted he wanted someone with 'common sense.'

DeSantis became a target of Trump's notorious mockery during the primary, though the Florida governor dropped out and endorsed him.

Gabbard, who served several terms in the House of Representatives and ran for president in 2020 as a Democrat, has since left the party ..

Wrong. Noem was the ONLY governor that did not have any lockdowns with any business or church in her state. Desantis had some limited lockdowns.

Noem was better than DeSantis.

The best pot odds would be on Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

Loyal to MAGA
Executive experience
DC experience
She’ll help win the election
Knows how to handle the media
Excellent future electability
Tough, poised, and energetic

Tulsi is being talked about as a VP for Kennedy so I don’t think she would take it for Trump. But we should know soon. Kennedy is going to have to announce his choice in the coming few weeks in order to get ballot access in some states.

Wouldn’t be that much of a stretch from most Republicans in Congress.

You need to watch “Everything is a Rich Man’s Trick”. You will find it on Youtube. It is 3.5 hours, but truly an eye opener of not just who all was involved with JFK’s murder, but how most wars and operations are carried out by the powers that run our planet. Hint, nothing is for Patriotism.

True and I hate to see that. DeSantis has actually GOVERNED in the most MAGA way of any governor, IMHO.

Not his list.

It was not his list. Ingram just read off a list of possible running mates, and Trump, in an uncharacteristically political manner, simply characterized them as all fine people.

Whoever it is, they will have to be very tough and smart. Democrats will bring war against our nation. There will be lots of violence and death. We must not back away from the fight we must restore America.

Don’t need to pull any repubs out of congress. We need more in congress. Enough to overcome the RINO factor which means a 30% majority is needed. I want permanent change, not a bunch of easily canceled EOs and you need a majority in both houses for that. This happens every 4 years. Tunnel vision for a “Presidential election”. People forget about all the other people up for election/re-election. McConnell and Graham are up for re-election. There should be as much talk about replacing them as there is about replacing Biden.

Ron DeSantis (he’ll drag the ticket down because so many Trump voters now hate him, plus he has the personality of a Harvard/Yale lawyer)
Vivek Ramaswamy (better for a cabinet position - chief of staff maybe or someone to help clean house - would have a helluva press-sec too)
Senator Tim Scott (Keep in congress)
Kristi Noem (too much ego and maybe RINO tendencies - been in politics too long)
Byron Donalds (Keep in congress)
Tulsi Gabbard (I think the lib/feminist would come out)

Without pulling from congress, I don’t see anyone here who’s been pro Trump(and a conservative) since he came down the elevator. Noem might be the closest thing.

I would like to see Nunes play some part in a Trump admin. He’s smart and quietly investigated RussiaGate almost on his own. He also knows DC. I could see him and Vivek firing 2/3 of the bureaucrats and remaking the place.

Surely you understand that picking DeSantis would be seen as choosing Mike Pence again after knowing what Pence has done to him.

This is even worse because people would say Trump knew beforehand that he could not trust DeSantis and it would be seen as Trump once again picking a person who he should never trust.

Kind of a moot point anyway. RDS would be better off staying Governor.

Lee Zeldin of New York and Harmeet Dhillon of California

Lee Zeldin is good.

Harmeet was tag teaming with Ronna on twitter during the 2022 AZ election fiasco and Harmeet was supposed to be boots on the ground with a team of lawyers. They both went radio(twitter) silent before AZ was even done counting ballots and stayed silent for weeks. Left Kari Lake to fight on her own. It was disgusting.

No Tim Scott. He has had his nose up McConnell’s behind for years. He also is downright weird.
