New York Governor Kathy Hochul has admitted the lawfare deployed against the Trump organization and President Donald Trump himself was a specific plan for his targeting and any other business interests or people within New York should not be concerned.
It’s a rather brazen admission all things considered; however, if it changes the public outlook as the various New York lawfare cases against President Trump continue, is yet to be determined.
(Via The Hill) – New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) addressed New York business owners in a new interview and told them there was “nothing to worry about” after former President Trump was hit with a $355 million fine and a ban on conducting business in New York for three years.
Hochul joined John Catsimatidis on “The Cats Roundtable” on WABC 770 AM, where she was asked if other New York businesspeople should be worried that if “they can do that to the former president, they can do that to anybody.”
“I think that this is really an extraordinary, unusual circumstance that the law-abiding and rule-following New Yorkers who are business people have nothing to worry about, because they’re very different than Donald Trump and his behavior,” Hochul responded.
My grandparents moved from NYC in the mid 1960”s. Soon after they moved my grandfather was pulled over for speeding, per custom he was used to in New York he promptly handed the officer his wallet when asked for his license. The officer explained he was no longer in New York and to just take his license out himself.
This public admission is sufficient for impeachment and removal. Purposing state funds to come after ONE business and individual— is CRIMINAL under any State Constitution and also, under the US Constitution.
These are some real dumba@@ people— actually govt. gangsters. Jefferson gave the solution many times. An impossible gulag of NY State. What idiots.
So they admit “Selective Enforcement” ?
“Jury trial for anything over 20$. I’d say over 350$ million dollars calls this into play.”
I suspect Trump and his lawyers allowed the judge to decide so the amount of the award could be questioned because Amendment VII provides “no fact tried by a jury shall be otherwise re-examined in any court of the United States than according to the rules of the common law”.
[I believe recovery for fraud was allowed under the common law, but I’m not a lawyer.]
He forgot to add— “unless we don’t like you”
Exactly. It’s not what she said. It’s what she didn’t say.
She was following orders.
“Her message was don’t commit fraud”
Is the failure of real estate agents to tell their clients that residential real estate is absurdly overpriced fraud?
Is the selling of real estate by quoting square foot pricing fraud? The walls and inside plumbing lines of a house with twice the square footage are just ~42% longer.
Is the failure of real estate agents to disclose the likely impact of Joe’s invaders fraud?
“We only did to my party’s chief political opponent.”
I am Spartacus.
My brother once sold real estate in New York.
He exited the business when New York State changed its law.
Many houses in New York State are old and many house problems have been literally covered up.
Of course. HoeFool conspired with Biden-Obama, Letrickster
James and EndMoron to screw Trump.
In May 2004, Spitzer went after NYSE Stock Exchange CEO Dick Grasso for "excessive compensation." Grasso accused Spitzer of charging him just to make a name for himself. The NY court of appeals dismissed all charges against Grasso.
In May 2005, Spitzer went after American International Group (AIG) for insurance fraud. Spitzer filed a civil complaint against Maurice R. "Hank" Greenberg (Chairman and CEO) and Howard I. Smith (ex-CFO of AIG), alleging fraudulent business practice, securities fraud, common law fraud, and other violations of insurance and securities laws. Spitzer declined to bring any criminal charges against Greenberg, and two of the civil charges were dropped in September 2006.
In December 2005, John C. Whitehead, chairman of the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation, alleged that Spitzer had threatened him during a telephone call that took place in April 2005. Whitehead alleged that Spitzer called him regarding a Wall Street Journal opinion piece that he wrote about Spitzer's public comments regarding Maurice R. Greenberg. According to the allegation, Spitzer threatened, "Mr. Whitehead, it's now a war between us and you've fired the first shot. I will be coming after you. You will pay the price. This is only the beginning and you will pay dearly for what you have done. You will wish you had never written that letter." Spitzer has denied the allegation.
During Andrew Cuomo's tenure as Attorney General, it was discovered that Eliot Spitzer ordered the New York State Police to keep special records of then Senate majority leader Joseph Bruno's whereabouts when he traveled with police escorts in New York City. The created documents meant to cause political damage to Bruno. Spitzer (now Governor) responded by accepting responsibility and issuing an apology to Bruno.
Spitzer eventually resigned as Governer over a sexual scandal with a young prostitute. Cuomo also resigned as Governor over multiple sexual abuse allegations.
In August 2013, District Attorney Eric Schneiderman filed a $40 million civil lawsuit against Donald Trump for his "Trump University" alleging it to be an "unlicensed university"[30] and calling it a "bait-and-switch scheme". In October 2014, a New York judge found Trump personally liable for the institution's not having the required license.
In 2017, Schneiderman filed over 50 lawsuits opposing President Trump's environmental actions that sought to scrap numerous Obama-era environmental regulations.
Schneiderman later resigned over multiple sexual abuse allegations.
Barbara Underwood was appointed to fill out Schneiderman's remaining seven month term, and Letitia James won the next election for New York State Attorney General.
And that's where we are now. As DJ Casey Kasem used to say, "And the hits just keep on coming!"

The federal government didn’t want Mar-a-Lago.
The Post family had a hard time selling it.
Trump has vision.
And where ARE Spitzer and Cuomo today?...........................
“Bill of Attainer. Prohibited under the Constitution. Law specially crafted to get someone in particular.”
The law was not crafted to “get” Donald Trump. It was utilized to get him sure, and the law is odious in its applicability, but it has been used sparingly before. It’s not a bill of attainder.
“Ex Post Facto. Making a law up to make something a crime after the face. Prohibited.”
The law has been around since at least as far back as you can search on Westlaw legal history - the 1980s or longer. Not ex post facto.
“Jury trial for anything over 20$. I’d say over 350$ million dollars calls this into play.”
Trump’s lawyer waived a jury trial. That one is on his legal team.
“So much mockery of the Law here. There once was a time when Americans tarred and feathered public officials for things like this.”
This post does ZERO to help.
I can’t believe this imbecile is my Governor.
The only problem with calling this law a bill of attainder is that it was passed 68 years ago in 1956.
The fine of $300 million is unconstitutional based on the 8th amendment protection against excessive fines.
The ban on doing business in New York for three years is unconstitutional because it was intended to prevent President Trump from exercising his right to appeal because he won't be able to find a lender who will post the $350 million bond required to file an appeal.

That’s because you didn’t move yet.
The plan was to flood the country with illegal aliens and then use the Congress and White House to bail out the blue cities and states through taxation of the red states.
That plan is at risk of failure now because of Biden's mental incapacity and the lack of a Democrat bench to replace Biden for 2024.
Even now, Biden is punishing New York City by withholding funds that were promised to Mayor Eric Adams because Adams dared to speak out against Biden's border policies. Hochul is taking a different tone with the White House, and going after Donald Trump is a part of the equation.
