Britain’s decline over the past 25 years has been staggeringly rapid. Almost everything is getting worse, and almost nothing is getting better. Our public and private institutions are broken, presided over by an incompetent, selfish and narcissistic ruling class. Living standards, when adjusted properly for living and property costs, are declining.
Even the simplest things don’t work any longer. Queuing, scarcity and congestion are rife, our infrastructure is embarrassingly poor, and the honest and hardworking face endless bureaucratic battles to obtain what they are due. Free riding, crime, disorder, fraud, littering and generalised rule-bending are rife, and all too often tolerated by apathetic citizens and an indifferent state. Britain’s residual virtues, our individualism, independence of mind, tolerance and openness, uniquely appealing features of our national character, are fading.
Like a frog in boiling water, few saw the full scale of the decline coming until it was too late, and those who did were ridiculed by the bien-pensant. Yet even in 2024, when millions now realise that Britain is on the wrong track, there is no hope of meaningful improvement. The Tories have been abysmal, but Labour will be even worse: Keir Starmer will double down on the social-democratic and culturally nihilistic policies tested to destruction by the Conservatives.

Celebrate diversity.
The death knell of a formerly decent human civilization.
"fraud and generalized rule-bending are rife"
Life is hard, because of the ruling organizations of power, religion, and social structure(s) that violate(s) the rules.
National Socialism in Germany, Russian Socialism, and Jewish Communism|Socialism - all three with power structures - under which, you could swear that you crossed all the "T"'s and dotted all the "i"'s . . . but you lose, and, or, are punished anyway.
Because of the powerful who abuse and violate the rules.
“Free riding, crime, disorder, fraud, littering and generalised rule-bending are rife, and all too often tolerated by apathetic citizens and an indifferent state.”
They have democrats in England?
I’ve made this comment at least 500 times on Twitter when I see stories coming from England. England is dead. They have committed demographic suicide.
The whole world is being remade. It’s going to be messy. And it will take a long time. But it’s here and it will be harder and harder for people to keep their heads down and say “This is fine.”
Prefer God
Love truth
Be kind

I have come across about a half-dozen British nationals in my professional work over the years. I found them to be some of the least impressive people I’ve ever dealt with.
We’re less than a decade behind them, at current rate.
I visited London in 1985 and was not impressed by British society even back then (trashy, weird people, hospitals reeked of urine, etc.).
Too much tolerance is not a virtue. Bye bye UK.
“...apathetic citizens...”
Wait until the UK gets in a world war. Few citizens will care if the country is destroyed. Why fight for a government that hates you.
Same thing in the USA. Citizens are just waiting for Washington DC to be annihilated (along with the Deep State ruling class), and then the rebuilding can start AFTER 20 million democrats are dead (Arthur Engoron and Letitia James among them). /spit
England, and all of Europe, are already lost. Most just don’t realize it yet. It will take another 20 years or so, but they’re gone.
“I visited London in 1985 and was not impressed by British society even back then (trashy, weird people, hospitals reeked of urine, etc.)”
Agreed.
I have a British friend who travels to the US often and notes how much better things run here, with friendlier and more efficient service. I tell him we’re not far behind the UK in our decline.
Murdered by thier own countrymen, the mirror across the pond is telling us something
I lived in merry ol’ England in the early 80’s. Nice place. Still very much England.
Not any more. By 1990 the place was already becoming a third-world host and it showed. I’ve seen places there that are now for all practical purposes occupied territories.
“Bien-pensent “
Right-thinking or woke. I like that one.
Douglas Murray still has hope … but I don’t see it
