MSNBC host Joy Reid lamented that black Americans have not received sufficient reparations for “literally, physically” building this country, believing that former President Barack Obama’s eight-year tenure is the best they will get.
Reid issued her comments during an interview on Salon Talks with writer Dean Obeidallah wherein she said that black people “literally, physically, built this country” and therefore deserve much more than a two-term black president.

I’d check your recall. It was the 19th century not the 17th. On the East coast, not the west and many of the navvies were Irish. The Chinese laboured on West coast railways.
Like the Muslims did? just ask the a## clown prior presedent.
Slavery was not legal and never legal in most of the United States. One of the reasons the North was able to win is that they did not have slavery and thus their agriculture vastly outproduced the South’s who relied more on involuntary labor (that did not earn wages and thus did not further contribute to economic activity elsewhere) vs. paid farmhands and technological innovation. Slavery retarded economic growth where it was practiced.

Respectfully, you are incorrect. Slavery was legal and thriving in most northern states until the 1820s when it eventually was phased out b/c factories overtook farming as money makers. And contrary to northern revisionism, the Abolitionists had little to do with the eventual end of slavery in the North. In fact, northern states made great efforts to prohibit any blacks from living in their states After they phased out.
Joy Reid is a fool. Objectively, outside of sports and entertainment, blacks have contributed far less than most demographics.
Joy, what about my grandfather’s who went down into coal mines? Joy, you are as honest as Joe Biden!
Two germ mixed race president. There fixed it. And more accurately, a mixed race black liberation communist president.
She is cringemaking stupid.
You picked F’n cotton...
Because it would have taken longer to teach apes to do it.
Picking cotton didn’t build much.
True!
Individuals built this country. There is no Joy in racism, Reid.
She was born in 1968 as an anchor baby. Both her parents were non-citizens (her father was an illegal alien from Congo).
So NONE of her ancestors did anything for the USA except leach off the welfare tit of America. But here she is, talking smack, demanding that White people owe her. /spit
I did! In the 1960s, Morgan Farms was a small family farm who grew tobacco and corn. Didn’t know they were black until one day, my mom stopped at their farm stand to buy corn. Mr. Morgan was nice. His grandchildren sold the farm eight years ago. More valuable as commercial space.
They built Uganda, too.
...and Rwanda.
...and the Central African Republic, Northern Mozambique, Ethiopia, Cameroon...
And they are doing a repeat in Chicago, Baltimore, Indianapolis...
Ya learn what works.
Free phones?
No, no they didn’t Joy.
