I just sent the below memo to every one of my Republican colleagues in Congress.
Buried in the bill’s text is an impeachment time bomb for the next Trump presidency if he tries to stop funding the war in Ukraine.
We must vote against this disastrous bill.

Hopefully whoever Trump has planned for DOJ (with a wartime consigliere type AG) is going to have a special section dedicated to tracking down politicians engaged in this fiasco. Oh, play along if it passes, but start rehabbing accomodations at Gitmo and Leavenworth.

(Shrug) Fact of the matter is that if there are 67 votes to remove Trump or any other President congress will find SOME reason to impeach. Likewise if there is NOT 67 votes for removal, it doesn’t matter how many “timebombs” there are, no piece of legislation can FORCE congress to impeach or the Senate to remove.

President Trump cannot possibly bring peace unless he can pressure both sides that means that he needs a funding stream for Ukraine.
President Trump is not going to take office and prevail over any military debacles like what Biden did in Afghanistan.

Prior to 2013, Ukraine was controlled by corrupt Russian political/financial oligarchs. After 2014, it was flipped and controlled by corrupt American political/financial oligarchs.
we have seen the fruits of this - from Hunter Biden and his thievery, to the Steele Dossier, crowdstrike, and the Vindmans/fake impeachment - all having roots in Ukraine.
