You have to realize that when they say history... they mean recorded history. Recorded weather history is about 150 years.
It’s going to be about 60* here in Ohio today. If this is climate change, I’m going to burn some tires in my back yard to be sure it continues.

How dare you object to this brilliant research?
This “scientist” engaged in a series of seances with Neanderthal ancestors.

Hottest "in history" is wordplay because it means since we've been recording daily temperatures. It doesn't mean hottest ever.
We've been recording daily temperatures only for the past 100 or so years. And that's during the Modern Warm Period. If we had been recording temps during the Medieval Warm Period or Roman Warm Period (time of Christ) or Minoan Warm Period (Era of Judges in Old Testament) we would have had warmer January's than this year.

global records going back to 1850 The Little Ice Age ended in 1850.
And you say temperatures have risen since the Ice Age ended?
Unexpected. Are we all gonna die?

This January a good portion of Iowa was abnormally and brutally cold, as well as snowy/windy. EU scientists apparently have happy times wherein they can assert just about anything that supports the aims and dogma of the PTB.

Last month here in Central Texas, we had a stretch of 82 consecutive hours where the temperature didn't reach 32°F. I'm not talking low temperatures. I'm talking all day temperatures. Lows were in the low teens, with wind chills putting us right at 0°F two nights in a row.
Many plants hardy for the area, according to the latest USDA Hardiness Zone map (another load of BS), look fried. This is the fourth winter in the row where the cold weather and sometimes snow have hit the area. Of course, those four winters aren't included in those latest USDA Hardiness Zone maps, which conveniently stop at 202.
