A lot of ink has been spilled in recent days about the Senate’s $118 billion border bill, most of it detailing just how awful the proposed legislation is — awful, that is, if your goal is actually to secure the border. The bill creates a new baseline of admitting 1.8 million illegal immigrants annually, doles out work permits and green cards on the whim of federal bureaucrats, and funnels billions of tax dollars to the same NGOs that have for years facilitated mass illegal border crossings. And that’s just for starters.
But not much has been said about Mexico’s role in the new immigration regime this legislation would create. In fact, Mexico is barely mentioned at all in the 370-page bill. That’s odd considering that no border enforcement mechanism that actually keeps illegal immigrants out of the U.S. will work without some level of Mexican involvement.
Consider that the so-called “bipartisan” legislation, crafted behind closed doors by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, includes a “border emergency authority” to shut down the border if 5,000 illegal immigrants are arrested daily over seven consecutive days or 8,500 are arrested in a single day. Setting aside that this would cement into law nearly 2 million illegal immigrants every year, what would happen to all those illegal immigrants arrested in the U.S. after the border is “shut down” under this emergency authority?

No need for border bill. Put Trump’s policies back in place.
A couple of cruise missle strikes might go a long way to punishing them.
A real border deal would mean hunting down all members of the cartel and executing them or tunring them over to the countries that want them (for execution).
I say if the illegals want to stay here, they should find some bleeding heart liberal to sponsor them. Put THEIR money where their mouth is.
It looks like the cartels wrote the bill.
Nice going there con-gress.
Force the businesses that hire them to do so. Or take away their FEIN which without they can’t do business.
There are Congress members, and then there GROSS CON members!
To declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water;
It is long past time we stopped pussyfooting around.
Declare war on the drug cartels and tell Mexico that they can lead, follow or get out of the way.
Congress could issue letters of Marque and Reprisal and issue bounties on the heads of the cartel leadership. Allow mercenaries to take out the cartels.
If Mexico denies us access to their land to carry out the war, declare war on Mexico.
The Mexican Government has been bought by the cartels or terrorized in to submission. Either way it is time to end the invasion, the human trafficking and the fooding of our homeland with drugs.
Good luck with that.
The feral government is in on it.
Bingo. We need to stop talking about what the federal government should do or is obligated to do, because it's obvious whose side they're on. All that's left is to decide what we're going to do about it, and that's assuming we haven't already squandered our remaining chances.
The Biden regime’s actions would suggest that.
But Congress does not need the executive’s concurrence to declare war.
Napalm always works....and it's a whole lot cheaper.. :)
a real border solution would patrol with guns and use them
