Harrowing footage shows a 89-year-old grandmother suffering from dementia being abused by four cruel carers after her family became suspicious of bruises on her body and hid a secret camera in her bedroom.
Sisters Danielle and Rebecca Hinsley unwittingly captured footage that 'broke our hearts' after becoming concerned when their grandmother Beryl Wall's behaviour changed and she was left with injuries to her body.
The pair complained to staff at the Wolverhampton care home in February 2020 but were left dissatisfied with the response so took matters into their own hands.
Ms Wall's granddaughters put a Yi Eye Wi-Fi camera on a photo frame in her grandmother's bedroom in a bid to see what was happening to Mrs Wall, who could not speak at the time.
In a Michelle Keegan Fool Me Once style gambit, the £120 camera was disguised and recorded footage through motion detection straight to one of the sisters' phones.

Hidden camera was good idea. Hiding in the closet with a baseball bat would also be good.
Scott Adams was right.
You won’t be surprised the race of the feral thug “caretakers”.
more black on white assault. “Caretakers”, my ass.
“Hidden camera was good idea. Hiding in the closet with a baseball bat would also be good.”
Yup.
Hm. I’ve seen worse.
Looks like the elderly woman was not happy. That much is true.
And it looks more like the man patting her on the head with a pillow was doing so playfully, not maliciously.
The family ought to sue them for committing hate crimes.
I read this a few days ago & felt sick to my stomach.
I’ve told my wife/children the LAST place I’d want to be is NOT somewhere where the staff is that. I’d rather die earlier at home in bed. As for whatever those sisters chose to do in response to what they found out, whatever they decided to do I’m okay with. Free pass.
My dad was in and out of care facilities and the worst caregivers were almost always black. They'd also steal from him. One convinced my dad that he had to tip him in order to be “protected.”
I ended up hiring an in home 24/7 caregiver for my father.
This is what happens when you hire animals.
Caregivers
That poor sweet old lady. The four pieces of garbage got 4 or 6 month sentences, according to the article. That’s the equivalent of a slap on the wrist for them.
It always seems to be black “”carers””.......Annnnd the elderly victim always seems to be white...
Playful my aunt annie, that is totally disrespectful and horrible.
You never know. My father ended up in hospice care, and due to finances he was in a place that was less than four-star. Yet his floor attendant was incredibly kind. And that attendant was a young, tough-looking black guy.
My beef is this. We send billions of dollars overseas for very unwise reasons. But there is little money to help old folks here at home, people who have stayed out of trouble and paid taxes all their lives.
I'd have taken her out of there after seeing the bruises - not planted a camera and waited for her to be abused some more.
Yep.
My daughter was a nurse’s aide in a nursing home, and she caught a nurse abusing a patient. She turned her in right away. I hope I die before I have to go to one.
