Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) seems to have disappeared from the airwaves in early primary states despite his commitment to stay in the 2024 race.
After losing to former President Donald Trump in the Iowa Republican caucuses Monday, coming in a distant second, DeSantis does not have any ads running in New Hampshire, South Carolina, or Nevada, according to ad tracking services.
Not only has his campaign apparently gone silent, but the various super PACs supporting his 2024 bid have also vanished from television in the early nominating states.

Maybe getting rid of Jeff Roe and Christina Pushaw has allowed him to get a grip on his campaign. No amount of money is going to change New Hampshire. It is Haley and crossover vote vs Trump. Why waste money that would be lost over the next few days? And then South Carolina? Wait until after New Hampshire as it was be wasted at the moment. All DeSantis needs to do for the the moment is bide his time.
All the super PAC money has been spent, and there are just not that many “small donation” funds coming in.
In Vegas, it is sometimes known as “shooting your wad”. When the cash is all gone, caution and prudence set in.
Wonder if Karl Rove is calling him lately.
GOPe Never-Trumper big money donors have switched to Haley. Ron’s days of spending like Jeb Bush are over.
DeSantis’ plan is to stay in past Super Tuesday and “do really well” (losing by 40, 50, 60, 70 points) and claim victory. Then drop out just before FL and when he gets rocked in his home State, he’ll say I wasn’t even in that race, and Trump didn’t get 100% - so that’s very bad. Then he can say I came in second and am the heir apparent for 2028, forget 2024, I got cheated by Fox News and indictments.
You either agree with Trump in which case why are you running except maybe to give it a go and get your name out there and get some experience on the national campaign trail to prepare yourself for 2028; or, you are an idiot and try to diss him and disagree with him, pissing off well over half of the folks you are going to need to support you to get the nomination and win the general election. THAT was from day one a losing proposition.
And then there is staying power. What we are seeing is that the lawfare conspiracy against Trump is being executed through the agency of very corrupt, incompetent and/or frothing at the mouth insane left-wing ideologues. Who knew Fani was going to blow herself up so spectacularly and then try to charge the scorned widow with obstruction of justice for accusing here lying philandering sleezeball husband of being exactly those things.
DeSantis has pretty well taken himself out of the 2028 running.
Yeah but look at all the money he made.
Ron should be able to read the writing on the wall and pack it in. He has been a great governor, but is a poor campaigner.
For now, he should fold up his tent, endorse Trump, return to Florida, and run again when the time is right.
He should return to being Governor of Florida and quit ruining himself.
His run was ill conceived. He could shed the GOPe and return to being for the people. Listening to Bush and Canned Ham was a big error.
Yep, he did what he was paid to do now he’ll slink away like the little rat he is.
DeSantis is polling in single digits in New Hampshire, South Carolina, Texas and California.
The polls could be a little bit off—but this is ridiculous—total clown show.
When he went in the Uniparty tank on J6, he queered his chances of ever getting my vote.
He’s gone. Unless he pulls out a surprise in NH (He won’t) he figures it’s best to keep some money in his campaign chest. He can use that to seed his ‘28 campaign.
With SC we start the “winner take all” states. If it’s not a two person race by that time, it will be mathematically over. It already is...but “there is still a chance.” (There is no chance.)
Done?
States have early voting for a reason.
Early voters let Deep State know how much it needs to cheat.
If Deep State wants DeSantis, it’ll make sure hrs the nominee.
And people who use early voting aid and abet Deep State.
See post 15.
DeSantis is done as a national candidate—forever.
He needs to learn to enjoy being governor of Florida—and if that means his wife divorces him so be it.
He wouldn’t be the first FL to go home empty handed....
