House Speaker Mike Johnson said on Wednesday that Joe Biden's presidency is "God's will."
The Louisiana Republican and evangelical Christian took over House leadership in October following Kevin McCarthy's tumultuous tenure. Johnson, who has served in Congress since 2016 but whose platform and personal ideologies were not relatively known prior to taking the gavel, has faced scrutiny by some for views characterized by some as "dangerous." He evoked scripture during his October 25 speech, saying: "The Bible is very clear that God is the one that raises up those in authority." He said that Marxism and communism fail because their ideologies do not stress a belief in God, and he espoused a pragmatic sentiment imploring all House lawmakers to take advantage of the gifts they receive from God. On Wednesday, following a Republican conference meeting on Capitol Hill, Johnson was asked by a journalist if he thought Joe Biden's presidency was "God's will." Johnson harkened to the speech he made just before he was voted speaker.
"I said in my speech before I took the gavel that I am a Bible-believing Christian," Johnson responded. "A Bible-believing Christian believes what the Bible says, right? The Bible says that God is the one that raises up people in authority. I believe God is sovereign. By the way, so did the founders. "It must have been God's will then. That's my belief, right, but I think that a nation makes a decision collectively 'cause we're given the free will to do that, and I think we're gonna make a much better choice as a country coming up in this election cycle. We're very much looking forward to that regime change." ...

He’s referring to Romans 13:1 - Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.
As we look at history from ancient Israel to present day, we see the Lord using men and nations to remove and replace evil men and nations/governments. Mike should take note.
Exactly. Leaders serve at the Lord's will, sometimes for blessing, sometimes for cursing. It's clear that Brandon is in the latter group.
So cheating to get someone in office is God’s will?
No Mike and all you supposed Christians (even members of my own circle) it’s not God’s will, it’s God allowing the cheats and wrongs in this fallen world with His desire that more believers and unbelievers would look to HIM (and the finished work of Jesus) for answers, get convicted by the Holy Spirit to sincerely repent of our selfish ways. With His help, straighten out our lives, and we can have hope HE will deal with the cheats as we each truly let GOD lead and we FOLLOW.

I think I know what Mike Johnson meant.
Because he is profoundly religious, he believes that nothing can happen without God’s will - even things that we consider being disastrous.
That Biden landed in the White House, is God’s way of willingly causing a strong reaction among humans in America.
And maybe that strong reaction ends up being a good thing.
It could lead to a new leader taking over...
And THAT new leader will also be causing huge reactions among humans in America...
Philosophically speaking, God probably wants humanity to face constant huge challenges. It’s part of the evolution.
Yes that is what I think he is referring to and he is correct. God put rulers in place to fulfill His purposes. We may not like it but that’s what the good book says. Biden has turned a lot of young people away from the dems...maybe that’s why.
I’d prefer strange women in lakes distributing swords over our population…

Why does one think he got confirmed so quickly and firmly by the GOPe? A wolf in sheep’s clothing as the fable goes, has the Bible to protect him while acting like a democrat or typical GOPe.
The book of Daniel does say that God determines the fates of nations but the determination is not baked in, and that he does raise people to office to carry out His will, but not all of them.
In fact, it gives an account of the Prince of Persia, some kind of heavenly figure (over Persia) interfering with the actions and will of God when He sent the angel Gabriel to talk with him.
The New Testament says that the powers of darkness also sets up rulers.
Not God’s will but God’s curse.
But in 12 months, pain and punishment is coming for Sodom and Gomorra DC.
I believe that God allowed Biden and company to cheat their way into office as a wakeup call to a nation once blessed by Him and who loved Him. A blind man can see the difference between Trumps presidency and Bidens. Is America going to choose the correct path or dissolve into filth? So, I agree with Mike Johnson.

The tyrannical Brandon regime is NOT God’s Will, it’s the Devil’s Work, all of which should have been thwarted if the rule of (election) law had been enforced!!!
I see it a different way. I see it that we had to have somebody like Biden to show people how bad liberal Dems are and what they have planned for us. President Trump showed people how good it could be. Biden is the contrast to that.
The man is Deep State.
