Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley are locked in a tight race for the coveted first-loser title.
However, the DeSantis campaign is very upset with the media for declaring President Trump the Iowa winner.

Big sad.
Tonight, all the Ron DeSantis conscripts, and paid influencers start to realize there’s not going to be any income potential for them in a few weeks. It’s a cold look in the mirror when “learning to code” applies to your collapsed career.

Ron did better than I thought he would. It is still a wipe out. For every vote Ron got Trump got more than two.

Glad Trump won and the Nikki did not get 2nd as she represents the Romney Cheney doozebags of the party, and as such needs decisively defeated.

Well the main question is will Ron or Nikki remain in the race? New Hampshire is next I think.

I’m glad that DeSantis finished ahead of Haley. Not because I think it puts him on the path to winning the nomination. It’s about repudiating Haley.
DeSantis was my first choice because I thought at the time that he had a better chance of winning the general than Trump. I also thought that he was better at articulating conservative principles than Trump (which I still think).
I think Haley probably has a better chance of winning the general than Trump, but a Haley administration would not be a friend to conservatives. In some ways it would be worse than a Democrat.

Haley wins ONE county by ONE vote! The suck must be unimaginable for her and Shorty...
At least Vivek had the decency to fall on his sword.
Nimrod-duh will now declare she “Came in 2nd in Iowa” and go on to have New Hampshire “correct” their mistake.

Trump wins every single county, period.
Forced to watch CNN and god was it aweful
Cut off Trump as soon as thank yous we’re done. Let Haley give entire stump speech without interruption
Bias of the establishment trying to gaslight her is so obvious.
CNN. Fake news then, fake news now, fake news forever.

Takeaways:
- It was BS for all the networks to call the race 5 seconds into the voting
- Trump won over a divided field but is still stuck at 50% support in heavy red states
- DeSantis needed a better showing but still took second
- Haley is set up well for New Hampshire where Democrats can openly vote for her

You missed the fun! There is a live thread with over 1200 comments (including the 88 continuous double posts —an FR record— by a freeper who shall not be named). It was a blast! But thanks for starting a new thread for those just tuning into the results.
