In 2018, 56.4% of new recruits were categorized as white. In 2023, that number had fallen to 44%. During that same five-year period, Black recruits have gone from 20% to 24% of the pool, and Hispanic recruits have risen from 17% to 24%, with both groups seeing largely flat recruiting totals but increasing as a percentage of incoming soldiers as white recruiting has fallen.
They aren't making it up with other groups. Those are flat, and whites are declining bigtime. The net is missing recruiting numbers bigly.

As the trend accelerates, and I see no reason it won't, I wonder what the administration response will be?
I served 68-76 in the AF. I had max scores on their AFQT and overall entry test so that put me as available to put in any specialty. I got technical control (controlling all LL, radio, A/G, G/A communications, radar elements, etc. Whenever we’d have a link outage with a marine or army units I had to basically teach the other end operators how to find the link channels and patch them over. They didn’t even know what instruments and gear they were patching out.

But the point I was making is that a black takeover of the military would risk a black dictatorship. At one extreme, what happens if a majority black military decides to exterminate the white population? In South Africa, the fastest growing black party’s platform is literally “kill the Boer” (i.e. kill whitey). And all that happened there was Jim Crow, not slavery.

How did Alawites end up in charge? Alawites joined the Syrian military in lopsidedly large numbers. There’s a lesson in there. If a dictatorship is coming, the side with the bigger guns will prevail.

Oh, so you think Assad is worried about ISIS? Is that why he ceded the eastern half of his country to them? No, he ceded the eastern half because his regime could not defend it from ISIS.
So ISIS came in and seized Syrian oil facilities and started operating them to fund their operations in Syria and Iraq. That is what necessitated the US to occupy/deny ISIS’s funding facilities in Syria. Something neither Assad or Russia (Wagner) was able to do. The US has the benefit of supply from Iraq and Jordan which Syria (and Russia) does not.
Assad murdered thousands, thousands of US and Coalition troops in Iraq. He provided recruits, funding, training and munitions to AIQ. And you support him?!!

Even so, what is the CHOICE there - ISIS or Assad? I don’t really care about his past, as, right now, ISIS in charge of Syria is a DISASTER for Israel.

Agree, and I think one can safely say that, literally, EVERY CHRISTIAN still in Syria (and there were many before the Neocons started the civil war there) prefers Assad over the alternative.

Historically, every war is different. The latest war, in Ukraine, has old and new elements, but has already changed warfare. The United States has had strong military family involvement since its inception. They protected the Republic, at great cost, since 1776. Joe Biden and the democrats have changed that. I think that many people no longer see a Republic to protect, and fighting and dying for the ‘deep state’ was never the plan.
